The presence of two side decals (blue shields with three yellow crowns) indicates that the helmet was updated after 1942. The “72 a” mark: Indicates the shell size, 72 centimeters. This helmet is an M1921/16 (“Flat” or Low-Profile) an early version of the design, produced after World War I. It features a lower, flatter crown compared to its successor, the M1921/18 (“High” or High Dome). Complete example: The clarity of the decals and the integrity of the original leather lining enhance the value of this helmet. Note: Shows signs of wear, dents, and paint wear.
