This is Japanese M ilitary art, War art. This is an oil painting of a Type 89 medium tank created in 1922 on paperboard. Its size is 333×307 mm. It appears to have been used as a target for airsoft guns during military training at a junior high school, and awarded to outstanding participants. On the reverse side, there are inscriptions with the recipient’s name “Hisao Onoda, ” the school name, and the words “Award” and November 20th, Taisho 11. On the surface, there are bullet marks with the names of students and the instructor (Captain Okamoto). In the middle of the tank’s body, there are marks with the recipient’s name “Hisao Onoda” and his shooting. He likely targeted and hit the tank’s engine area with his shots. Size 20 x 30. Colors are bright and sharp, classic WW I imagery with soldier in foreground and nurse in background with big red cross symbol. A couple of small edge tears and folding at bottom, easily repaired with linen backing or mounting, would be great matted and framed. No paper loss or holes. Reich Defence Reich Heer w/ Reich Marine. This vintage Cigarette Card Album is a number one reference for anyone interested in the Reichswehr [Reich Defence] from 1921. Album features 280 captioned color cards with gold border depicting all aspects of the Reichswehr, to include Army Infantry, Mountain troops, Cavalry, Artillery, Engineers, Transportation, and Signal Branches, and includes training and barracks life. Also included is Railroad Artillery and the early development of the Panzer Forces. Thirty-four color cards deal with the German Navy (Reichsmarine). Also a superb uniform reference book. Silver cover features, in the center, a gilt Reichswehr eagle surmounting a black shield. Complete with all colored tobacco cards! Good exterior and very good interior. Wrappers and spine slightly rubbed, else ok. All pages are complete and tight in the binding. Approx/Measurements: 12-1/4″ x 11-3/4″ 2.2 lbs. Published by Cigaretten Service.

WWII US Horstmann Philadelphia military sword & scabbard Etched blade beautiful!! Antique sword in the scabbard/sheath. Marked Horstmann Corporation, Philadelphia (with a symbol underneath). The BLADE IS 30″ LONG and 7/8″ wide nearest the handle. It comes with a 31 long scabbard and has beautifully etched blade. The blade is marked US on side, and under an American Eagle on the other side, marked E PLURUBUS UNUM. The handle looks very elaborate and has a black grip. There are 2 loops attached to the sheath. So that it will hang on a belt. NOTE: there is one rough spot near the tip of the scabbard (see photo it has a little rust or something developing). Naturally, there are signs from use (minor scratches), and it likely will need a good polishing to remove the very faint tarnishing. That’s all the history that I know about this piece. It is from a smoke-free home. I know that often these swords have someone’s name on them but I cannot find one.

This is a very rare patch from the Citizens Military Training Camps. These camps operated between 1921 and 1940. This patch is most likely from the 20s or 30s. Please let me know if you have any questions.
