The Spartacist Uprising, which included street fighting at the Bülowplatz in Berlin, took place from January 5 to 12, 1919. The Spartacist Uprising involved the Freikorps. The Weimar government, struggling to control the uprising, called in the Freikorps, a paramilitary group composed of demobilized soldiers, to suppress the rebellion. 1930s US Army 2nd Inf Div shoulder patch, felt on felt, measures 4 X 3.25 inches with embroidered Indian head well centered and NO glow and weighs 0.2 oz. This patch was definitely removed from a uniform because if you shine a flashlight behind the patch, you will be able to see the needle holds along the border. MEDAL(FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE). This IMPERIAL SERVICE MEDAL is a medal affiliated with the Imperial Service Order. The medal was established under the statutes of the Imperial Service Order, on 8 August 1902, by King Edward VII, with the first awards appearing in the London Gazette in May 1903. It is presented upon retirement to selected civil servants, including those belonging to the lowest support and clerical branches who complete at least 25 years’ meritorious service. In 1920 the appearance of the medal to its current form, a circular medal, 32 mm in diameter, bearing the effigy of the reigning sovereign on the obverse. To date, here have been six versions. The reverse bears the image of a naked man resting from his labours with the inscription “For Faithful Service”. The name of the recipient (Richard Michell) is impressed on the rim of the medal. This Medal is VERY HARD TO FIND and in GOOD to VERY GOOD CONDITION with a small tear at the top of the ribbon, considering its age. This would make great addition to any military collection.
