The rope is not wrapped around the anchor but in an arch design, which is the 1927 pattern. Also, the 1927 Hilborn Hamburger pattern has the legs spread apart. Hilborn Hamburger continued to use this pattern after 1937. The most desirable pattern is the legs spread apart. Please review the pictures carefully, as they are also part of the description. My passion is history, and I desire that my vintage militaria items go to collectors so that our past lives on and the items will continue to be preserved. Many many years ago, a collector friend of mine came over to see my collection. He said to me, you do not own these items; they are simply on loan to you until another collector buys your items to enjoy and preserve. Years later, I realized just how exact his words were. It is important to me that vintage items are preserved for years to come for history. This item has been in my collection for many years. My collections are in rooms that do not get any outside light. Therefore, you won’t find any fading with my militaria items in a smoke-free environment. No cats and only a little Yorkie occasionally. 1930 USMC PATTERN 1927 OFFICER’S DRESS BLUES H-H 1/20 STERLING SILVER HAT BADGE. We sincerely appreciate the thousands of eBayers. A nice USMC Good Conduct Medal group with service in China with the 10th Regiment of Artillery. While stationed at Quantico, he participated in the re-enactment of the Battle of Antietam as an Observer. Included in the group is his USMC Good Conduct Medal, frayed ribbon, engraved’No. There are 9 photos with a USMC observation balloon, on the ground & in the air, a Marine Corps biplane, Marine Corps cannons & a football game between Marines and VMI. Broussard was discharged as a PFC, but held a temporary warrant for Sergeant. While in China he was attached to the 1. A nice addition to your medal or USMC collection of a hard to find group from a Marine who served in Tientsin, China. Must be back in my hands 14 days from your receipt of the item. Description and photos speak for the item. Be sure to check out the photos for condition of the items. NOTE I was mistaken about which Civil War re-enactment they were involved in. Researching, it had to have been the re-enactment of Antietam. The Marines marched from Quantico and camped along the way to participate.

Original early 1930’s photograph of Captain George Bowers, USMC. As a 2nd Lt in WW1, Bowers was awarded the Navy Cross and Distinguished Service Cross for action at Thiacourt, France in 1918 while with the 81st Company, 6th MG Battalion. He was also awarded two Silver Stars, two Purple Hearts and three French Croix de guerre Medals. He earned a battlefield commission and was a “Mustang” Marine. He also served in Haiti and the USS Arizona. He is shown in his dress blue uniform and cap with Sam Browne sword belt, EGAs and ribbons denoting his heroism and awards. 81st Company, 6th Machine-Gun Battalion, 6th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A. Date of Action: September 15, 1918. The Navy Cross is presented to George Bower, Second Lieutenant, U. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving with the 81st Company, 6th Machine-Gun Battalion, 6th Regiment (Marines), 2d Division, A. In action near Thiaucourt, France, September 15, 1918. Aiding an infantry platoon, which had been forced to withdraw because of heavy machine-gun and artillery fire, Lieutenant Bower, while suffering from severe wounds, kept his guns in position, consolidating his location, and preventing the danger of an enemy counterattack. Born: at Torresdale, Pennsylvania. Home Town: Torresdale, Pennsylvania. Other Award: Distinguished Service Cross (Same Action). This photo was submitted by him and was removed at some point from his file. Marines were required to submit a photo for the next rank and have their name on the back. I believe it is his printing. Others that I have are signed, but he chose to print. Small piece of tape to the upper left corner. Measures 4″ x 3″. Please pay upon receipt of invoice.
