Functional original Olympia typewriter from the 1930s or early 1940s from the Reichsbahn Direktion in Essen Germany. Made at the Olympia branch in Essen on Aldolf H Straße 1. Types ok but not sure if all functions working properly as I do not know how to operate or set up typewriters. Original spools which are only loosely fixed onto the body of the typewriter. Maybe missing pins or clasp. I have used it to type bank checks but for serious typing may be needs some overhauling. Made for the government railroad, not military so no xx runes over the 5 or 3 keys.
Vintage BUTTONS West Point U. True, spherical Brass “Bullet Ball”. Lot of 24 on on the original factory Card! Civil War, Indian Wars, Spanish-American War, WWI eras. These most likely date from the mid-nineteenth century (Civil War) to the early twentieth century and were used on the Full Dress Parade Uniform Jacket (Coatee) worn by the Corps of Cadets of the UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY, West Point, New York — as well as those of various State Militias, e. The Zouaves, military schools, fire companies, fraternal organizations, and bands. This is an UNTOUCHED “New Old Stock” LOT OF 24 Gilt-on-Brass “Bullet Ball” Buttons with Brass Round-Loop Shank backs on the original factory Card which reads simply. + The spherical “Bullet Ball” rests on an crimped back with a protruding rounded edge. + On the back of each, stamped between two parallel rows of’Dots’ encircling the brass shank in san serif font are the words’MADE IN ENGLAND’. + Each appears to be approximately 18mm in diameter. + In addition to the recognized names of W. And WATERBURY BUTTON CO. There were numerous suppliers over the past several centuries of “Bullet Ball” Buttons as well as decorative bullion and mohair trim to the Cadet Store of West Point. + These spherical “Bullet” buttons are NOT to be confused with current “Bullet” button which are actually cylindrical sections with a’domed’ top. These “Bullet Ball” Buttons resemble a C. Kingdom of Afghanistan Star Order Decoration medal, I’m guessing this was unique, or a gong for a sash that we’ve not seen before, Arthus Bertran jeweler of France made two workshops, since 1803! Looks like silver, 2 1/4 inches as worn, single loop at top.
Original Spanish Civil War Campaign Nationalist Medal 9K Gold British Made. The black ribbon color on the sides indicates this one was awarded for to a combatant. This is where if gets interesting. The medal is a jeweler made version in 375 gold (9Kt – which is typical for British gold items) and is marked as such along with the English marks for assay Chester and V letter code for 1946. It is also named to EL LEGIONARIO SJ BROWN 1902977. Obviously an Anglicized inscription. Not sure if the number is a British service number or some ID from time in the Nationalist ranks. It is also marked PK for the maker (maker name unidentified). When I acquired it several years back I found an article online that had some summary details of an SJ Brown who fought in the Spanish Civil War for Franco, in the British Army during WWII, and then was a Dutch Merchant Marines into the 1950s. That is the extent of what I have been able to research. The medal is 33mm across by 3mm thick, and appears to be cast from an original. The two hanger rings are also made in 9K (375) gold. The gold purity has been tested. Ribbon appears to be a later addition. Medal weighs 34.0 grams, which is 12.75 grams of pure gold. See my other auctions with military and other items!
