Please check the images carefully for detailed condition. Item Details Type: Original Military Photo Album Country: Japan Era: Estimated around Showa 8 (circa 1933) Number of Photos: Approx. 112 photographs Album Size: Approx. 25 cm x 19 cm Contents (as identified). Imperial Japanese Army infantry regiment. Soldiers and military uniforms. Tanks and armored vehicles. Military ceremonies and regimental flag events. Locations including Yamagata Station, Chitoseyama, Obanazawa, and Kajo Park. Officers such as Brigade Commander Kawahara and Colonel Tanaka Historical Context This album is believed to date from around 1933 during the early expansion period of the Imperial Japanese Army following the Manchurian Incident. It documents military personnel, equipment, ceremonies, and local activities, providing a rare visual record of the pre-World War II Japanese Army. Following the Manchurian Incident of 1931, the Imperial Japanese Army entered a period of rapid expansion and military activity across East Asia. During this time, soldiers and officers often compiled personal or regimental photo albums to record training exercises, ceremonies, and daily life within their units. Albums containing large numbers of original photographs are particularly valuable to historians and collectors because they provide a continuous visual record of military organization, equipment, and regional deployment during the early 1930s. Examples documenting infantry regiments and military life in regional Japan, such as Yamagata, are relatively scarce and offer unique insight into the pre-World War II era of the Japanese military. Original pre-war cast-metal desktop model of a twin-engine transport aircraft, presented as a commemorative/award by the Imperial Japanese Aviation Association (: / Romaji: Teikoku Hiko Kyokai). Box lid bears the ink stamp:??? (“Commemorative Item – Imperial Japanese Aviation Association”). Underside of the airplane is cast/engraved:?? . Metal alloy body (cast “white metal”/zinc type), nickel-silver tone. Two small propellers fitted. Size (photos with ruler): wingspan approx. 17-18 cm (? 7 in), length 13-14 cm (? 5-5.5 in). Period piece; not a modern reproduction. The Imperial Japanese Aviation Association was a semi-public national body active from the 1910s through the 1940s to promote aviation in Japan. It worked with government, Army/Navy, schools, and industry to popularize flying, sponsor air meets & model contests, publish magazines, and raise donation funds for aircraft procurement. Items like this were awards, presentation gifts, or donor premiums to encourage public support for aviation. What happened / what does it represent? A stylized model of a twin-engine transport (civil/military liaison & training types of the late 1930s). Such commemoratives were displayed in schools, clubs, and private homes-symbols of modern technology and national aviation pride on the eve of the Pacific War. Late 1930s-early 1940s (Showa pre-war years). The casting style, typography, and association mark match period souvenirs before 1945. Produced and awarded in Japan; the Association’s activities were nationwide, with headquarters in Tokyo and regional chapters. Why was it made? To promote aviation awareness, reward supporters, and commemorate events (air shows, exhibitions, donation drives, school programs). The clearly marked box and base show it was an official Association presentation. How was it made/used? Cast-metal body with plated finish; small press-fit propellers; presented in a plain kiri-style wood box stamped with the association name-practical packaging typical of period awards. Exact Japanese Marks (for researchers). Why collectors value this piece. Clearly association-marked on both box and model. Pre-WWII aviation object-bridges civil & military collecting fields. Compact desktop size; excellent display & research value. Imperial Japanese Aviation Association; Teikoku Hiko Kyokai; prewar Japan; aviation award; transport aircraft model; WWII home-front; propaganda; donor premium; original box; Japanese militaria; aeronautical history. Historical note: This item is offered as a period artifact for research/collecting purposes only. It does not endorse any past ideology. Approximate 7-21days(To USA).

Pre-WWII Imperial Japanese Navy Sasebo Naval Training Corps Sailor Photo Album
This is an original pre-WWII Imperial Japanese Navy photo album documenting sailor training at the Sasebo Naval Barracks, one of the most important naval training facilities in Japan. The album was created as a graduation / completion commemorative album for sailors who entered service in June 1934 (Showa 9) and completed their training in the 6th Sailor Training Squad. Sasebo Naval Barracks was responsible for training new sailors before they were assigned to warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Many naval personnel who later served during the Pacific War began their careers in institutions like this. The album contains a wide range of fascinating historical photographs, including. Sailor group portraits. Naval instructors and officers. Bayonet and rifle training drills. Formation exercises and parade grounds. Life inside the naval training facility. Photographs of Sasebo harbor and naval vessels. One particularly interesting page includes a portrait of Admiral Mitsumasa Yonai, who later served as Minister of the Navy and Prime Minister of Japan. At the end of the album there is also a roster listing the names of the sailors, providing valuable historical documentation of the individuals who trained in this unit. Some roster details have been partially obscured in the listing images to protect personal information. Albums like this rarely survive with their original photographs and roster intact, making this a valuable primary historical document related to the Imperial Japanese Navy. 19 × 27 × 2.5 cm. Total pages: 57 pages. A highly collectible piece for collectors of Imperial Japanese Navy memorabilia and WWII military history. Overall good condition for its age. There are minor signs of age such as wear, stains, and small scratches consistent with a historical item. Please see photos for details. International Buyers – Please Note. Thank you for your understanding.

Logistics and supply transport. The lifeline of the army. About the 1st Transport Battalion. The Transport (Shichohei) units handled. Established in the Meiji era, these units supported divisional operations through the Russo-Japanese War and later conflicts. Barracks and base facilities. Family and school photographs. A photograph of what appears to be a. Military airship exiting a massive hangar. The airship image is particularly significant and may relate to early Japanese military aviation infrastructure. Most surviving albums focus on infantry or combat units. It is both a military collectible and a primary historical source. Age-related toning and stains. Binding wear consistent with age. Overall condition appropriate for a pre-war original item.
