This group includes Moore’s hand-lettered “LOG” scrapbook cover page, signed by Moore and marked Log Room, U. Whitney, with an impressed U. Moore notes that the book was started 25 February 1928 as a supplement to his photograph album. Also included is a 1929 Prospective Movements of the U. Whitney sheet listing Hampton Roads, Colon, Balboa, Panama Canal Zone, Guantanamo Bay, Callao, Peru, Philadelphia, Charleston, and Newport. Most notably, the January schedule directly names Fleet Problem IX for 22-30 January 1929, connecting this personal sailor archive to one of the major interwar U. The group also includes a USS Whitney promotion/advancement form dated 13 September 1928 for Robert T. Moore, advancing him from Yeoman Third Class to Yeoman Second Class, acting appointment, effective 8 September 1928. A strong named interwar U. The printed program lists ten entertainment numbers with engineering, radio, and communications-themed titles, including Dot One, Dash Two, Spark Five, Static Six, Vacuum Seven, and Full Power Ten. The acts include playful Jazz Age and vaudeville references to Paul Whiteman, George M. Cohan/Cohen, Weber and Fields, orchestral numbers, comic skits, and a finale by the assembly. This piece comes from the Robert “Dinty” Moore naval archive. Moore’s handwritten service log places him aboard U.
