This original war era German Officer’s Leather Muir Cap is a remarkable piece of history from Ground Forces Infantry in the early to mid-1930s, represents a significant era pre-WW2. Crafted by the renowned Muir Cap & Regalia Ltd company, known for their legendary craftsmanship in uniform caps for military and organizations since 1875 in Europe before relocating to Toronto, Canada at the turn of the century. This specific Muir Cap belonged to a WW2 era German (Air Force) Officer serving in the ground force infantry under the Panzer Division, specifically the “General Göring Regiment” Motorcycle Company, a notable military police force likely stationed in Italy leading up to the war. The built-in wreath and cockade black and red paint shows typical wear from exposure, which is common for a used military motorcycle officer’s uniform headgear relic; otherwise, it remains in excellent condition. The chin strap looks good but is stiff and should not be fully stretched or pulled. The area of the hat behind the stowed chin strap shows wear from the friction of chain links against the leather, which is expected given the original wearer’s use over years of service. The interior of the cap has some wear but is still in relatively excellent condition. The Muir brand label, located behind an acetate film, has been preserved for decades and remains in near mint condition.

1925 RARE Photo Shellback Initiation Black Sailor Cuffs USS OKLAHOMA BB-37 NAVY. Very Rare photo of the shellback initiation on the USS OKLAHOMA July 6th, 1925. Visible is the African American sailors in cuffs being brought before the Royal Court. Other sailors in the photo (shellbacks) have shillelaghs in hand. 3 1/2″ x 6″. USS OKLAHOMA joined the Pacific Fleet and, in 1925, began a high-profile training cruise with several other battleships. They left for Samoa, on 1 July, crossing the equator on 6 July. On 27 July, they arrived in Australia and conducted a number of exercises there, before spending time in New Zealand, returning to the United States later that year. In early 1927, she transited the Panama Canal and moved to join the Scouting Fleet. USS Oklahoma (BB-37) was a Nevada-class battleship built by the New York Shipbuilding Corporation for the United States Navy, notable for being the first American class of oil-burning dreadnoughts. After the war, she served in both the United States Battle Fleet and Scouting Fleet. Oklahoma was modernized between 1927 and 1929. In 1936, she rescued American citizens and refugees from the Spanish Civil War. On returning to the West Coast in August of the same year, Oklahoma spent the rest of her service in the Pacific. Some sailors inside escaped when rescuers drilled holes and opened hatches to rescue them. Unlike most of the other battleships that were recovered following Pearl Harbor, Oklahoma was too damaged to return to duty.
Antique Bubble Glass with wooden frame. This Portrait is of a Black US Soldier. The date is getting a little hard to read. There is a persons name on the back it is hard to read. It looks like the last name is Broirs but try to see the photos. The glass has no cracks in it. The frame does have some small chips coming off the edge of the frame. This was found in a storage locker. I dont know how long it was in there and i dont know where the storage locker was. The picture frame stands 22 inches tall and 16 1/2 inches wide. Offered here is this original, pre-WWII Longines Majetek military wristwatch made for Czech pilots. Large size, the case measures about 2″ long (50mm) overall, 22mm (9/16″) (strap width) between the lugs, and 40mm wide (1 1/2) excluding the crown. The watch is all original except for the crystal and strap. Watch was serviced and restored over 30 years ago. It still sets and runs well, but loses about a minute in a 24 hour period, so it likely in need of a cleaning once again. The original black dial has been touched up and the numbers and hands were re-painted with flourescent paint which has again chipped off in places. (see photos) The stainless case and crown are in excellent shape, and the text on the back of the case is crisp and deep. Property of the military administration. This is the third series of the Majetek, and the serial number of the bright 17j movement is correct for third series. The 22mm leather NATO type strap is a modern replacement, but suits the style of an aviator. Guaranteed to be original and as described. A scarce and desireable WWII pilot’s watch.
