MEASUREMENTS (approximate): Length 48″ x Height: 10 3/4″. This Photo is 4 Feet Long!! THE EXTREME RARITY OF THIS PHOTOGRAPH IS DUE TO. THE DOCUMENTING OF RACIALLY SEGREGATED UNITS INTO. UNIT 3 – COLORED (AFRICAN AMERICAN) – BUFFALO SOLDIERS! All Black Regiments were established in 1866 for Western Expansion and Protection against Native Americans. Native Americans gave these units the nickname “Buffalo Soldiers” due to their dark complexion and fierce fighting style. The Native Americans respected these soldiers because they fought like Buffalo. This is basis the the Bob Marley song, “Buffalo Soldiers”. UNIT 4 – CAUCASIAN. This rare Estonian pilot badge from the pre-WW2 era is a must-have for any militaria collector. The badge features an intricate design and is made with high-quality materials. It also has a marked back, adding to its uniqueness and authenticity. Whether you’re a collector or simply interested in military history, this badge is a great addition to any collection.
This is a full size USN Aviator’s wing with an EAG appliance added to the center shield of a US Naval Aviator’s wing and thus designating a USMC aviator. This USMC wing style was not officially designated but was certainly worn. This wing is d ie struck but its maker is unknown as it is unmarked! While it is one of the most beautiful such wings I have ever seen, recognize that I’m reluctant to claim it is actually authentic to the era because it just looks too good and lacks the patina I would expect to see on such a wing of that age. I’ve also looked closely at the attachments of the pin bases to the wings in order to ascertain whether they are soldered or electronically welded. There is no bubbling as would be expected as a result of electronic welding. Electronic welding was not available until the late 1950s. The pin retraction is on a 70-80° angle and weighs 14 g m.
