This poster was a submission for the 3rd Annual Peace Poster Contest in the 1930s’. It has an identifying stamp at the lower right corner with the name “Edna” next to it. It certainly has seen better days – as it has a long tare at the “W” in war as well as the lower left corner bottom. Also noted is the moisture damage that is seen by the dark areas and shapes on the poster. We acquired this from a local estate sale with no other information provided. All photographs are part of the description. Here is a WW2 US Navy telescope made by New York City company, Keuffel & Esser. It measures 28 inches long when fully extended, and is 22 inches long in closed position. The outer wrapping, which was probably leather, was stripped off at some point. The lenses are all good. It is marked on the extension, U. Navy, Quartermaster’s Spyglass, Power 13 1/2, Keuffel & Esser Co. Someone hand etched the legend, W. 2034, which I think is the government catalog number.
