1920’s US Navy Aviator Wings Pilots Wings Meyer.

This 1930’s USMC Pilot’s wing, while never authorize by the Marine Corps, was certainly worn by various members of the USMC during ALL eras of our flying history and it is an original period item from the 30’s era specifically created upon request for military personnel during that period of time. This collectible piece falls under the theme of militaria and features a “OROID” marked badge with the EGA applied to a H&H USN/USMC wing symbolizing the prestigious H&H honor. It serves as a tangible symbol of the bravery and service of the pilots who fought in the war, making it a valuable and sought-after item for collectors and history enthusiasts due to the very low number of such wings created. This item comes out of a 70+ year old collection as will be most of the items to be listed in the next couple of months or longer. Please consider listing me among your favorites as many new and interesting items are to be listed in the very near future primarily in the categories of patches, wings, and badges from World War I, 1930s, World War II, Korean war, and as well as the Vietnam war. By listing the among your favorites, you will be notified each time I post a new listing.

Mounted Photograph And Document – US Army Air Service Enlistment Tour , August 1919. Providence Rhode Island, August 9th, 1919. Mounted Silver-Gelatin Photograph of Biplane And Pilots of the Dallas-Boston Aerial Flight Squadron, With Government Liability Waiver Document (For Accident or Death During Flight in a Government Aircraft) Mounted Below, Signed by George L. Gross of Providence RI. 9 7/8 ” x 7 3/4 “. 7 3/8 ” x 4 3/8 “. In 1919 the Providence Chamber of Commerce invited the Dallas-Boston Aerial Flight Squadron of the U. Army Air Service to stop in Providence as part of a country-wide enlistment tour. Gross of the River & Harbor Committee along with other members of the Providence Chamber of Commerce were given the opportunity to be taken on flights over the Providence area. Gross was taken on one such flight and the attached document is his government flight accident / death waiver. The photograph depicts a piloted squadron biplane, with another pilot standing in front of the plane in the foreground. I believe the pilot in the foreground is Captain Herman Fluegel, though I can’t say with 100% certainty. The plane is decorated with a skull & crossbones, and marked “Enlist” & “Love Field”. The event is chronicled in the January 1919 issue of Providence Magazine Vol. Shows a little wear, the lower-right corner of the mount board is chipped, and the board has a moisture stain on the verso (doesn’t show through to the front side). Please see photographs for details. Feel free to send me any questions or request additional photos.

Rare Original Photo German AVIATORS PILOTS HANDSOME! Luftstreitkräfte Imperial German Air Service Leather PILOTS Coats. German Luftwaffe Early Aviation War History. II was an unarmed German two-seat reconnaissance biplane of the First World War. Designed by Ernst Heinkel based on his 1913 Albatros B. First flying in 1914, large numbers of the B. II were built and, though it was relegated from front-line service in 1915 following the introduction of the armed C-type two-seaters, the B. II remained in service as a trainer until 1918 and was still operated by the Swedish Air Force in 1919 and by the Polish Air Force during Polish-Soviet war in 1920. II had a shorter wingspan than the B. I and used a variety of engines up to 120 hp (89 kW). In 1914 it set an altitude record of 4,500 m (14,765 ft). The seating arrangement was not ideal; the pilot occupied the rear cockpit and the observer sat in front over the wings which greatly reduced his downward view while the protruding engine block almost completely obscured the view over the nose. When Albatros developed the armed C. I based on their B-series, the seat positions were swapped so that the observer/gunner had a better view and clear field of fire.
