Vintage 1924 Fort Sill US Army Officers Horse Show Trophy Donated by Sunbeam ZET
This listing is for a Vintage, 1924 Fort Sill US Army Officers Horse Show Trophy or Loving Cup. It was won by Major A. Jones, and the horses name was Dan. The Trophy was Donated by Sunbeam Chemical Company, the makers of ZET. It was donated in the interests of encouraging horsemanship in the US Army. The trophy is engraved on both sides. It weighs approximately 2 pounds and 3 ounces. It is approximately 12 inches tall. I believe it is just silver plated. It is marked as made by Wallace Bros, Wallingford Connecticut. It has a number V2820. I cleaned some of the tarnish so the engraving would be visible. But did leave much of the tarnish or patina as is. There are a few little dings and scratches, and some pitting in places, including some of the engraving. Please see pictures for condition and details. Ask questions if needed. I can send more pictures if needed. The item “Vintage 1924 Fort Sill US Army Officers Horse Show Trophy Donated by Sunbeam ZET” is in sale since Sunday, April 22, 2018. This is one of many great vintage & antique items we’re currently listing from various estates. Please take a look at our store categories and merchandise. Rare Historic 1920s Photo Album. This is an amazing album in excellent condition. I’ve scanned everything so you can look at it all. Majority of album is unused – in perfect unused condition. 39 photos are carefully free-mounted with corners, plus 20 additional photos that were never put inside. All photos measure the same size 2.375 x 3.375. 19 of the 20 loose photos have notes on the back to explain exactly what we’re looking at. Some photos inside have notes as well but it was hard to pop them out and pop them back in again so some of the discovery is up to you. These were all taken in 1924. Two show the intersection of Fort & King Streets in downtown Honolulu w/ a policeman directing traffic. We see people on Pier 2 waiting for transport, the Dry Docks of Pearl Harbor (where #27 is moored). We see the United States Army Transports Cuba & Grant. Pier 5 Gov Pier’ both from a distance and then from the street side of the buildings with Hawaiians & soldiers and cars. We see the 27th Inf. We see early military cars for’Official Use Only’ w/ drivers often named on back. There’s a shot of The Punchbowl. The sea wall at Waikiki. A grass hut on King Street. Quarters at Fort Shafter. Pictures of a 12 gun. On the Palace Grounds we see a great throng of people… Hawaiians, military, and Reserve Officers Training Corps. The date is Nov 11th, 1924. An event takes place where Governor W. Farrington, Admiral McDonald, & Army General C. Menoher all occupy the same outdoor stage. Album Measures 7.25 x 12 Condition. All in Excellent Condition.
