These most likely date from the mid-nineteenth century (Civil War) to the early twentieth century and were used on the Full Dress Parade Uniform Jacket (Coatee) worn by the Corps of Cadets of the UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY, West Point, New York — as well as those of various State Militias, e. The Zouaves, military schools, fire companies, fraternal organizations, and bands. This is an UNTOUCHED “New Old Stock” LOT OF 24 Gilt-on-Brass “Bullet Ball” Buttons with Brass Round-Loop Shank backs on the original factory Card which reads simply. + The spherical “Bullet Ball” rests on an crimped back with a protruding rounded edge. + On the back of each, stamped between two parallel rows of’Dots’ encircling the brass shank in san serif font are the words’MADE IN ENGLAND’. + Each appears to be approximately 18mm in diameter. + In addition to the recognized names of W. And WATERBURY BUTTON CO. There were numerous suppliers over the past several centuries of “Bullet Ball” Buttons as well as decorative bullion and mohair trim to the Cadet Store of West Point. + These spherical “Bullet” buttons are NOT to be confused with current “Bullet” button which are actually cylindrical sections with a’domed’ top. These “Bullet Ball” Buttons resemble a C. Circa 1920s Identification Card from Fort Sill in Oklahoma: the Field Artillery School — this is the Assistant Game Warden ID Card and was issued to Capt. Who lived at 126 Coleridge St. East Boston, MA, not far from the water (the house still exists). Page, Mother Sarah (Harper) Page, children Frank, Russel, Ruth E. Father worked at a wool concern, and was in the US Army. Mother was an immigrant from England. I’ll be listing several albums from this family. See scans or photos for condition.
