Vintage WWI-Era Military Cavalry Leather Riding Boots – Brown Russet Cordovan. Step into history with this stunning pair of vintage military cavalry leather riding boots, likely dating to World War I or just after. These boots embody the rugged elegance of a bygone era, crafted from rich reddish-brown russet/cordovan leather with wood-stacked heels, leather soles, and interior canvas pull straps. Authentic period design – Resembling boots used by U. Cavalry and military riders during WWI and the post-war years. Quality craftsmanship – Thick, durable leather with nailed soles and stacked heels, reminiscent of early 1900s riding boots made by Abercrombie & Fitch and Dehner. Visible markings inside – Though worn, the following can be partially read. Heel to toe (underside): 10 inches. Width at ball of foot: 3 ¾ inches. Height (heel to shaft top): 17 inches. These boots are in well-preserved vintage condition, with wear consistent with their age:? Rich patina with natural creasing and scuffs? Leather shows cracking but remains structurally sound? Soles exhibit wear, with missing stitching on the right ball of the foot (instep area)? Canvas pull straps inside shafts are still functional. These boots are a remarkable collector’s piece, perfect for display or for those who appreciate antique military and equestrian gear. Their well-worn character adds to their undeniable charm and authenticity- a true piece of history. Please review all photos and details and conduct your own research if needed. This is a beautiful dish or ashtray that appears as if it could have been the bottom of a shell and was worked into this display. It’s heavy, I believe it’s brass, maybe bronze. There are light scratches and edge nicks on the piece. USS Cushing (DD-376) was launched 31 December 1935 by Puget Sound Navy Yard; sponsored by Miss K. Cushing, daughter of Command Cushing; commissioned 28 August 1936, Commander E. Short in command; and reported to the Pacific Fleet. Except for brief periods of training at Pearl Harbor and one cruise to the Caribbean, USS Cushing (DD-376) cruised the west coast from San Diego for exercises and training. Undergoing overhaul at Mare Island Navy Yard when the Japanese struck Pearl Harbor, USS Cushing (DD-376) sailed from San Francisco 17 December 1941 for convoy escort duty between the west coast and Pearl Harbor until 13 January 1942. The second USS Perkins (DD-377) was a Mahan-class destroyer launched in 1935, served in World War II and sank following a collision with Australian troopship Duntroon in 1942.
