An antique letter plus envelope. The March 19, 1919 letter was written by AEF soldier Harry Nadel to his parents. Vintage wear and aging include creasing, bending, & fading; no other enclosures. 3 pages, with writing on 5 1/2 sides. Written on Knights of Columbus, Army of Occupation letterhead and envelope. Harry is stationed in Loef, Germany and this is his 73rd letter home. This rare letter provides great detail about General Perishing’s (Commander in Chief of AEF) visit to review the troops (“about 15,000 of us”), including passing by Harry. Envelope has cancellation and passed censor stamp/signature. Harry’s civilian job was at Paramount Pictures. Harry’s brother Joe (Joseph) was an accomplished film producer and director. Joe’s son, Arthur Nadel was also well-known in the film industry. Both are listed on IMDB.
