These Helmets were the result of the Free State of Ireland, needing to equip their Army of 10,000 men with a suitable helmet after the hostilities of WW1 ending in 1918. Thus when the Irish Free State Army of 10,000 men was formed, a uniform helmet was required, and the British “Tommy” helmet was not favored. So, the German WW1 design was settled upon. Only 10.021 were produced. To compare: The famous Austrian Berndorf helmet had a production of 140.000!!!!! Since the Treaty of Versailles prohibited Germany from exporting military equipment, the search for helmets ended in Britain. Off course, these Vickers helmets were of british inferior- steel quality, minor to the German models. This very scarce Mod. 27 Irish Vickers helmet is in very good condition. It has been repainted in the original color. Stamp of Vickers 27 in the neck of the helmet. See the details on the pictures! Excellent condition and guaranteed original pre WWII Japanese army Type 32 sword that is the Otsu model with a 30 ½ blade. Issued to all NCOs and men in the Military police and transportation corps, and all master sergeants in the infantry, engineers, and artillery. Sword is complete with matching numbered scabbard. Has the Tokyo Arsenal marking on the blade and dated Taisho 15 for 1925. Blade has beautiful original bright finish and still has original leather washer at the base. Remaining metal finish is original blue showing light wear. The finger loop has been removed. Wooden grip has original finish and no damage. Scabbard latch functions fine. Matching numbered steel scabbard has nice original blue metal finish showing light wear and a few dents. A really nice Type 32 sword with matching numbers! This is a good example of a Soviet Russian Cossack Shashka Sword P 1927. It is mounted with a slightly curved blade that measures 31 3/4 inches in length which remains in good condition with minor surface staining and continues to wear very nice markings as well as is dated “37”. The hilt has a grooved wooden grip that remains healthy and tight and wears beautiful brass fittings with a pommel which is nicely stamped with the Soviet emblem. The wooden scabbard is brass fitted and although has a little scuffing, does remain in nice serviceable condition and continues to wear its Mosin-Nagant bayonet. Up for consideration is a vintage Nazi flag. Its huge its over 4 ft wide and 6 ft long. Its in very good condition on the one side of the flag in the white by the Nazi symbol theres a small minor tear. On the one side in the white theres a mark like something was spilled on it.
