Repainted and reused by Korps Rijkspolitie after the end of the war in 1945. This helmet had been adopted by the army in 1933, see stamp (badly readable) CM1933 in the liner band (Centraal Magazijn, Central Warehouse). Original pre-WW2 shell, liner and chin strap (olive green color still under the dark grey). In very good original condition, beautiful marks. The liner was produced by. De Volharding’ Amsterdam (unreadable, but recognized by the pattern). In WW2 the old army helmets were used by various collaborating and civil organizations such as the civil defense. Most helmets used by the National Police after the war came from German war booty and often had their original interior. The helmet is in good condition. The badge is a reproduction. The brownish shade around it was caused by heating to get the original badge off in WW2. The repro badge was fixed with glue, not to make more damage to the paint. The liner has a nice stamp, badly readable. I think I see’Eindhoven’ on it, what could indicate it was used by the Civil Air Defence of Eindhoven Philips factories!
