XXV (25), 4 January 1936 to 27 June 1936. This wonderful US 15. Infantry weekly periodical was published in Tientsin, China, between January 4. 1936 till June 27, 1936. The collection paginates with 320 pages approx. And measures 12 x 8.75 inches approximately. The periodicals were probably in a binder at one point as two binder holes are present throughout. A previous owner had all the issues rebound in this present binding of green buckram, and Capt. Page is embossed on front cover in gold gilt. It is also curious, that Captain Page is typed at the top of nearly all the title pages, so he was probably stationed in Tientsin. This collection of rare periodicals from Tientsin China is in very good condition. Apparently, the entire publication run for this periodical dated from 1912 till 1938. Two albums brought home by a USMC veteran of old China and the Philippines, having served in Peking, Tientsin, Shanghai and Cavite. Has a wonderful painted front cover with Marine’s name painted to the front right “Smead C Posey”, US and Marine Corps flags, crossed rifles and a Carabao/water buffalo skull. Worn but visible is Cavite P. I under the flags. 178 total original photos of sites and scenes around Shanghai, Cavite and Tientsin. Some photos are missing and onion skin divider pages are cracked brittle or coming loose. Multiple photos that depict the Boeing or China Clipper, Chinese scenes, Philippine girlfriends, on the beach, on the range, Cavite barracks and buildings, some colorized photos, Cavite USMC basketball team, a group photo, the salt beds, and Enlisted Club at Tientsin. Second album is a scrap book, someone has scratched out the “S”, kinda funny… It has about 12 pages of photos, receipts, signatures, chits, a couple of bulletins, postcards and comes with over 50 loose scrap or cutouts from Magazines and newspaper, subject mainly military, poems, and scenes of Philippines and China. A great and rare chance at a unique piece of USMC and China Marine history. Measures 15″ x 11″ long. Books go media rate. Pre WW2 1927 China US Army 15th Regiment Tientsin 320+ Photographs Tianjin Photo Album was put together by US Army Soldier who served with the 15th Regiment Company “L” in Tientsin China. Not sure on exact date or name of the Soldier but is between 1925 to 1927 I believe. There is a large group photograph in beginning of album very sharp (10.5 by 7 inches) that may show George Marshall who was commanding the 15th Regiment at that time. I have attached many photographs some are scanned and other taken with a camera. Some loose photos and some missing on the pages. Photo are not stuck in, however the corner tabs have stuck to the front of the images. So left on the images is a small black remnant on the photo corner. Some corners have disconnected from the corner holders. These probably can be moistened and removed if so desired. I did pull a few off to see if there was some description on the reverse. I counted over 330 photographs. Over 90% are China with the remainder Philippines and a few Stateside. Please scroll down to see the photos of the album. I took some photos with camera and another group with a flatbed scanner. Photographs are a mix of Postcard sized Photos 5.5 by 3.25, 4.25 by 2.5 inches and 3.5 and 2.5 inches.
