Original 1920’s US Navy dress sword as shown. Original uncleaned condition from the family estate. Overall length in the scabbard is 33 5/8. The blade just under 28 long. Knight on one side of blade. Records show as Lt. Commander of the Navy Intelligence division, serving in (at least) the years of 1923 and 1924. Marked only “proved” without a maker’s name. The blade is unsharpened as a dress sword (the tip is sharp). The handle is a natural shark? Skin that has some wear and missing spots on one side at the guard. Otherwise excellent condition overall. US PRE WW2 M1902 HIGH GRADE PRESENTATION SWORD & SCABBARD BOTH NAMED ENGRAVED. See pics for details of this sword and scabbard. Both sword and scabbard are named. Both sword and scabbard are ornately decorated. Scabbard has the presentation engraved between the ring mounts. I have a pdf file that has a group pic in which Captain James F. Smith is in during 1929 and that is why I’m calling the sword a pre WW2. Blade is tight to hilt. Blade tip shows wear. Scabbard has a few dings. This is a beautiful French Made Chilean Presentation Sword for the well known Argentinean Physician, Politician and Diplomat Marcos Jose Arce (15 October 1881 – 27 July 1968). This gorgeous Sword features a gilded brass hilt that is exquisitely detailed with cut out design and engravings and crowned with the head of a condor for the pommel. The guard remains very nice and tight and frames beautiful mother of pearl grips that have survived in excellent condition as well. It is mounted with a multi fullered, wonderfully etched blade that measures 32 inches in length and is named “MARCOS JOSE ARCE” on one side. The blade has also survived well with only minor blemishes and surface staining. The outstanding silvered scabbard is fabulously engraved and also remains in superb condition with no dings. This is ANTIQUE RUSSIAN DAGGER/KINJAL (Presentation decoration). Used but in good condition. Each part is original. Dagger length without scabbard 19 inches or 49 cm.
