Pre WWII Polish wz. Here is a wz. 31 helmet that has been in my collection for a number of years. The helmet is an original pot with original liner and chinstrap. At one time this helmet was painted black on the outside and the inside rim – as can be evidenced by remnants of black paint on the liner. Someone has removed the black paint and repainted it green with a close resemblance to the original color. Whoever did this was very careful not to damage the inside markings or the liner/chinstrap. An attempt was made to recreate the original salamandra finish, but it is lacking its original appearance. The inside of the helmet behind the liner still has its original paint stamping bearing Ludwikow 98 37. It also has its K2 ink stamp and its copper control rivet with K2 acceptance stamp. The liner has a K2 stamp and all 3 pads in place. I believe them to be original as they seem to be filled with a coarse animal hair. The leather is in great shape for its age without dry rot, but I would not consider it soft/supple. These helmets are very scarce, especially with intact leather component and markings. It is a wonderful representative piece, that will add to any helmet collection. Please let me know if you have any questions. Rare original Chinese medal, pre WW2. Includes the medal, a ribbon device (which is pin back with a metal backing) and the original cloth issue envelope. The medal and ribbon device are both stamped with number 7399. The envelope is stamped 7399. The medal measures approximately 1 3/4 across at the widest. The pin back ribbon device measures approximately 1 3/16 long and the envelope measures approximately 2 3/8 x 3 5/8. The ribbon shows soiling and the medal some age discoloration. The ribbon device has rust stains around the edge. Very usual to find all three numbered pieces together. For sale is an all original Adrian Helmet used by the Communist Republican Forces in the Spanish Civil War. The helmet overall is in very good condition, showing definite evidence of field battle use. There are two prominent dents in the top left of the helmet, no doubt caused by flying debris. The helmet has much of the original olive drab green paint, as well as the original red star in the front. Above the red star are remnants of a black circled divisional symbol. The inside of the helmet has the proper 4 tab attachment system for the liner. Also included is an original five tongued helmet liner that is in much better shape than the helmet. The helmet liner is unattached to the helmet. This is an incredibly rare helmet, as very few survived, and originals rarely if ever come to market.
