Rare Pre WWII USS Pennsylvania BB-38 Battleship sailers wool crackerjack Donald Duck Flat Hat Navy Cap Pre-1933. Excellent vintage condition nearly antique wool sailers cap with USS PENNSYLVANIA in gilt wire across the sweat band. Own a piece of history from the heyday of the Old grey Lady when she was the flagship of the US Naval Fleet. Very good condition wool in great shape leather sweat band in great shape with a date stamp picture included. A few loose stitches. Gilt/gold wire is tarnished but in very good condition. Name stenciled in side M. Hat is creased from storage Ive had it on the head mold for a week or so to help but likely stored for a long time. The Pennsylvania-class consisted of two super-dreadnought battleships built for the United States Navy just before the First World War. The ships were named Pennsylvania and Arizona, after the American states of the same names. They constituted the United States’ second battleship design to adhere to the “all or nothing” armor scheme, and were the newest American capital ships when the United States entered the First World War. During the 1920s and 1930s, Pennsylvania served as the flagship of first the Atlantic Fleet, and after it was merged with the Pacific Fleet in 1921, the Battle Fleet. Pennsylvania was occupied with a peacetime routine of training exercises (including the annual Fleet problems), port visits, and foreign cruises, including a visit to Australia in 1925. She suffered relatively minor damage in the attack, being protected from torpedoes by the drydock. Pennsylvania joined the fleet in a series of amphibious operations, primarily tasked with providing gunfire support. The first of these, the Aleutian Islands Campaign, took place in mid-1943, and was followed by an attack on Makin later that year. During 1944, she supported the landings on Kwajalein and Eniwetok in the Marshall Islands and the Mariana and Palau Islands campaign, including the Battles of Saipan, Guam, Peleliu, and Battle of Angaur. During the Battle of Okinawa, she was torpedoed by a Japanese torpedo bomber and badly damaged, forcing her to withdraw for repairs days before the end of the war. Allocated to the target fleet for the Operation Crossroads nuclear tests in 1946, Pennsylvania was repaired only enough to allow her to make the voyage to the test site, Bikini Atoll. She survived both blasts, but was badly contaminated with radioactive fallout from the second test, and so was towed to Kwajalein, where she was studied for the next year and a half. Original Spanish WWII Blue Division. Pin with Eagle, Falange Insignia. Very beautiful with three enamel colors – red, black and white. 1 3/4″ long, 1 3/8″ wide. The all-volunteer’Blue Division’ was a formation of volunteers that allowed Franco’s technically neutral Spain to support Nazi Germany’s invasion of Russia. Following initial training in Germany, the Blue Division’s units were sent to the Eastern Front in August 1941, where the Division fought in several major battles including Leningrad. In 1943, with the tide turning against the Axis forces in Russia, the Division was ordered to be withdrawn, yet many men chose to stay on and serve with the Volunteer Legion. Even after the collapse in the East, some volunteered to serve with Waffen-SS units through to the fall of Berlin in 1945. This is a M1928A1 1928 Thompson SMG Submachine Gun – U. Military Version – Denix brand non-firing replica. The USRGC builds replica weaponry for museums, discerning re-enactors and collectors. This replica is all metal and real wood. Both magazines are all metal. It features a removable 20 round stick magazine, working bolt, trigger, sight and sling mounts. The wood was stained a dark walnut to give it a nice aged look. I bought a Kerr sling from At The Front, which is WWII correct for this weapon. This item will come in the original box. It show field use with some ware. It holds its shape very well and has NOT been oiled or dyed. The stiching is tight and still white to off white. The back of the holster is marked R. Which is probaly the GI that captured it. This might not be a mint holster but still shows very well. For your consideration is this scarce, 1920’s Era United States Marine Corps Enlisted Alpha Service Cover. It’s being offered by us, as found, uncleaned. The leather band, buttons, and leather bill are all in very good condition. The included EGA is original to the period and appears original to the cover as well. The inside leather band is in very good condition, but retains approximately half the original stitching, which is very common with covers this old. There is also a moth bite on the top about the size of a pin head. This is a very scarce, transitional period cover, and is one of the nicer examples we’ve seen for sale. Overall, this cover is a true survivor, and if you’re looking for a museum piece or want to top off a period uniform, this fantastically preserved piece has no issues, and is ready to be displayed proudly. Size is 7 1/4. Note – the side buttons are secured using pins as apposed to the later screw in button system. The first reasonable offer will add this spectacular looking time-capsule to their collection. No disappointments, this piece is a gem.
