Very Nice War Time Japanese Dress Naval Officer Sword With Portepee
This is a good example of a War-Time Japanese Naval Officer’s Parade Dress Sword. It is mounted with a machine made blade that measures 26 1/2 inches in length which remains in near mint condition. The lovely brass D-guard still wears traces of the original gold finish and frames a samé covered hilt with its original wire wrap still tightly in place. Pretty cherry blossoms “sakura” motifs adorn the pommel, the backstrap and the guard face. The black lacquered leather scabbard wears beautiful fittings with coordinating sakura motifs that also continue to wear traces of their gold wash and although the leather is lightly scuffed, the leather does remain in very healthy condition. The original pretty cloth Sword Knot remains present and healthy although its cord is now a bit worn. Overall the Sword measures 33 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Very Nice War Time Japanese Shin Gunto Army Officer Sword
This is a very nice example of a well made Japanese War-Time Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a lovely blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 26 1/2 inches in length and remains in very nice original condition. The signed tang wears the signature ” SADAMITSU ” on one side and a date that translates to “Showa juhachinen jugatsu (1943, October)” on the other side. All the beautiful quality fittings remain very nice as well. The metal scabbard has a few small working dings near the drag, otherwise also remains in very good serviceable condition. NICE JAPANESE WAR TIME ARMY OFFICER SWORD OLD BLADE
This is a good example of a War Time Era Japanese Sword carried by an Army Officer during World War II. It is mounted with an ancestral, streamline KOTO blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in nice condition with a lovely straight temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The blade has some scratches and surface blemishes as well as has a small parallel opening crack on the cutting edge near the tip. The tang wears two holes and shows to have been cleaned with fitted during the war. All the fittings remain very nice and clean in their condition. The leather combat covered wooden scabbard wears two carrying rings and remains in very nice serviceable condition. Overall, the Sword measures 37 1/2 inches in length. NICE JAPANESE NCO SWORD WAR TIME TYPE 95
This is a variation and a good example of a Japanese Army NCO Shin-Gunto Sword differentiated by the black steel guard (tsuba). It is mounted with a cast aluminum hilt painted to resemble the Officer’s pattern which remains very nice, still wearing some of the original paint. The machine made blade measures 26 1/4 inches in length and although is lightly stained, remains in good condition and wears a MATCHING number to the scabbard. This is a very good example of a War-time production Japanese Naval Officer’s Kai Gunto Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a massive machine-made stainless steel blade that measures 25 1/8 inches in length that has survived in near mint condition and wears an unmarked tang. The hilt along with all the fittings also remains in very nice, clean condition. The beautiful wooden scabbard is black samé covered, wears matching fittings to the hilt and remains very nice as well. Overall measuring 37 inches in length.
