Each photo is original and authentic to this album, providing a unique insight into the history and events of the time. This sailor kept photos of his friends, family, girls and adventures ashore with names and places labeled. Sailors team photos, sailors golfing in uniform. Photos of the mechanics, the crew quarters and artillery. Photos of home and girls and drinking beer in ports around the world. This collectible album is a valuable piece of militaria, offering a glimpse into the naval activities and experiences of the United States Navy during that time. This leather album is full and over flowing with real photos and is a brilliant addition to your collection. It is a prized possession for any enthusiast or collector of military memorabilia. Most of the photos are in great condition. The edges of the book are worn, as pictured. Zoom in on the cover to see all the countries visited written on it. During the attack on Pearl Harbor the USS Oklahoma was sunk, 429 Sailors were lost. The USS Pennsylvania was in dry dock in Pearl Harbor at the time. She suffered 15 crewmen killed, 14 missing in action (presumed dead), and 38 wounded, with casualties resulting from bomb fragments and debris, including a torpedo tube section blown onto her deck from the destroyer Downes. The Pennsylvania was the flagship of the U. Being in drydock spared it from the direct catastrophic hits of other battleships, but it still sustained significant damage and casualties from the attack.

Rare Spanish Civil War Admiral Valdes Republican Navy Sailors Hat Cap Helmet. It has hand inscriptions with a sailors log of ports in spain and or battles. This destroyer traveled north with the Republican, including in the battle of Cape Cherchell and later in convoy escort. On July 12, 1937, together with the destroyers Lepanto, Churruca, Admiral Miranda, Gravina and Sanchez Baircáztegui, they maintained an artillery duel with the cruiser Balearic Islands, while the destroyers escorted the tanker Campillo, in which both sides withdrew after an hour of firing, the Balearic Islands, discovering that their cannons were overheating after 50 shots. On March 5, 1939, following the uprising in the city, he left Cartagena with the bulk of the Republican squadron for Bizerte (Tunisia), where he arrived on March 11.

Estate sale find, vintage original photo, Patrol Headquarters at Wharf in Puerto Cortes, Honduras, circa 1920’s. The Banana Wars were a series of conflicts that consisted of military occupation, police action, and intervention by the United States in Central America and the Caribbean between the end of the Spanish-American War in 1898 and the inception of the Good Neighbor Policy in 1934. Honduras, where the United Fruit Company and Standard Fruit Company dominated the country’s key banana export sector and associated land holdings and railways, saw insertion of American troops in 1903, 1907, 1911, 1912, 1919, 1924 and 1925. Henry coined the term “Banana republic” in 1904 to describe Honduras.
