This is undoubtedly the rarest military photo I have ever owned. Ultra Rare Yard Long Official Photo WW1 USS Georgia w Crew US Navy by JC Crosby. He moved to Norfolk, Va. In the later part of 1920. A list of known Navy photographs he produced is listed in Naval Historical Center Homepage online Library. This one is not listed and may be the only one known to exist. The frame measures approximately 44-1/4 x 10-1/4. The previous owner had it professionally framed with a new dust cover installed. I cut back about a quarter of the dust cover to view a portion of the print itself. I guarantee it to be old and original. There are a few condition issues that are common to photographs of this age. Please scan with the zoom tool to examine it for yourself. The backer board is white so the upper left corner and the few small white spots are holes in the photo. The Royal State Coat of Arms is made of cast bronze “AE” in the disc rim. There is a relief embossed state coat of arms in the form of a two-edged eagle that is shielded on three breasted chests. On the shield are the coats of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. Above the shield is King Alexander I. The Royal State Coat of Arms is located on a relief embellishment in the form of “Baldachin” Royal Canvas.
