ORIGINAL, RARE & VG+ Pre-WWII AC Slate Blue Aviation Cadet Shirt 15.5″ x 35″! This is an ORIGINAL, RARE and VERY GOOD+ condition pre-WWII Army Air Corps aviation cadet shirt. The shirt is made of slate blue wool serge twill fabric. The slate blue color is best see in the close-up, non-flash images. According to online sources, the uniform was authorized for wear by Army Air Corps aviation cadets by a change to Army Regulation 600-35 on 1 December 1928, Paragraph 13-1/2, and was worn well into World War II. Included below are some B&W photographs and captions which show the uniform being worn by upper class aviation cadet officers. The shirt is in VERY GOOD condition and shows no mothing, rips, holes or tears to the wool serge fabric. All of the original khaki buttons are present and unbroken. The shirt is by measurement a 15.5″ neck x 35″ sleeve (25 from shoulder seam). The other measurements are as follows (measured across width of shirt): chest 23″; waist 20.5″; and overall 34. The shirt appears to have been laundered at some point in its life, rather than dry-cleaned, and probably started out as a 16″ x 36″ shirt. Original Spanish WWII Blue Division. Pin with Eagle, Falange Insignia. Very beautiful with three enamel colors – red, black and white. 1 3/4″ long, 1 3/8″ wide. The all-volunteer’Blue Division’ was a formation of volunteers that allowed Franco’s technically neutral Spain to support Nazi Germany’s invasion of Russia. Following initial training in Germany, the Blue Division’s units were sent to the Eastern Front in August 1941, where the Division fought in several major battles including Leningrad. In 1943, with the tide turning against the Axis forces in Russia, the Division was ordered to be withdrawn, yet many men chose to stay on and serve with the Volunteer Legion. Even after the collapse in the East, some volunteered to serve with Waffen-SS units through to the fall of Berlin in 1945. Nice M-1938 Pattern Col dress blue jacket. The shoulder straps have snap attachments, the CIB is bullion and sewn on with the ribbon bars clutch back. There isn’t a name on the tailor’s tag nor any identification on the piece. The jacket itself is in excellent shape. This was in the collection which I’m liquidating. The jacket is very loose on a size 36 mannequin. I do not take measurements so please don’t ask. Here is a very rare set of dress blues for a USMC private. Both tunic and trousers named to the same Marine, R. Includes a later-issue (“restrike”) Yangtze River Service Medal and an Expert Marksman badge. All original, no alterations. The set does have mothing, so it is not mint. Mothing is concentrated on the read shoulder of the tunic with scattered nips elsewhere, while on the trousers it is in the crotch area witha few elsewhere on the pant legs. The top eye for th ecollar closure is loose but still attached. Colors are still vibrant with no stains or fading. Displays very well, medium size.
