This is a very nice example of a Japanese Shin Gunto Sword carried by an Army Officer during World War II. It is mounted with an ancestral, streamline signed KOTO blade that wears a cutting edge of 26 3/4 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful polished condition with a very nice temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears one hole and although difficult to make out, possibly reads? All the nice quality fittings also remain very nice as does the metal scabbard which remains absolutely perfect in its condition. Still present, is a lovely field grade red and brown Tassel that remains very nice as well. Overall, the Sword measures 41 1/8 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Convert rotary motion from piston engines or turboprops to provide propulsive force. They may be fixed or variable pitch. Early aircraft propellers were carved by hand from solid or laminated wood with later propellers being constructed from metal. The most modern propeller designs use high-technology composite materials. The twisted airfoil (aerofoil) shape of modern aircraft propellers was pioneered by the Wright brothers. They found that a propeller is essentially the same as a wing and so were able to use data collated from their earlier wind tunnel experiments on wings. They also found that the relative angle of attack from the forward movement of the aircraft was different for all points along the length of the blade, thus it was necessary to introduce a twist along its length. Their original propeller blades are only about 5% less efficient than the modern equivalent, some 100 years later. The article “Propeller (aircraft)” is part of the Wikipedia encyclopedia. Its SIMILAR TO WW1 / 1914 FLYING COAT Guaranteed VERY OLD BARNSTORMER FLYING COAT OF GERMANY GUARANTEED PRE 1935!!!!!!!! US 46 – 48 – very heavy large sized. Its an very heavy duty coat with some kind of drapery/heavy woolen material which is known in apperance in 1880 – 1900! The coat is outside heavy duty wool of finest durable workmenship. The darkbrown colour is a bit broken in. The inside is sheepskin top till down. The coat itself is one of the oldest coats I have ever owned. I cant date the coat exactly only by my knowlege / appearance and what I know from former owner. The fur is durable with NO hairloss-issue. The coat has some minor repairs and some mothing which is hardly noticeble. As you can see down the pictures all flying coats of WW1 were tailor made and are different to appearance, which is hard to differ… I do discribe this in this case as a flying coat as undentified and very very old coat from pre 1935 – guaranteed!!!! Very hard to find item. I bet there is a person out there which fits perfectly in this coat – – makes a great gentleman out of anybody who comes around with this one and nice suited look as well… Measurements: Shoulder: 20.5 inch / 52 cm Arm length: 24 inch / 61 cm Back Length: 48.5 inch / 123 cm Armpit to Armpit (chest across): 25.5 inch / 65 cm.
