I took this ensemble in trade on some Rare insignia. Everything on the Tunic Hat and pants are 1920 period originals. The tunic is Depot marked in the sleeve and is size 4 S. The EGA devices have been on it so long that they are indented about half way through the collar see scan. The pants are depot marked and stamped size 2 M and are made of some of the heaviest wool I have ever felt. The white dress belt and buckle are correct for the 1920 period also. The hat is the very rare 1922 pattern with a correct 1920 Pattern EGA attached. This Visor Hat is shown in Roger Benders Book Equipping-The Corp because of its rare nature. The Tunic, Pants, and the Belt are all named to a man named S. Cohen and the Visor Hat is named to J. This is not unusual because everything was Government owned including the EGAs and were reissued as long as they were not damaged. The tunic pants and hat all have light moth tracking but no holes that I could find. The hat sweat band has a section with stitching missing but still is complete and not in need of repair. 1937 Imperial Japanese Navy Training Photo Album Book RARE Pre-WWII. The pages are divided by thin rice paper that has printed Japanese Text. The pages of the book are full of Japanese Text as well, especially the rear final pages which look to be perhaps a listing to all the crew members! This Vintage Japanese Imperial Navy album is in good condition for its age, showing some mild edge wear to the covers. The binding is original and is holding strong, albeit slightly loose. The interior pages shows light-mild scuffing and coloration from age/display. The rice paper dividers are in good shape, with only 1 missing and some light creasing present in a few pages. This album has absolute fantastic display value, and provides an unparalleled view into the life of one of history’s most powerful naval forces! 11-1/4″ W x 7-5/8″ H x 3/4 Thick. This is a very nice example of a Large Variation of a Japanese Cavalry Officer’s Sword, Type 19 which would have been in service all the way up to World War II. It is mounted with a plated machine made large blade that measures 34 3/8 inches in length by 1 1/16 inches at the widest. The blade remains in nice condition with some minor surface blemishes. It wears a very nicely detailed pommel which frames a lovely horn hilt that although only a portion of the twisted wire remains, has survived in very healthy condition. The hilt also features a lovely floral motif and is accentuated with a beautiful silver family mon on the backstrap. The metal plated scabbard has some light flaking, particularly where it was hand carried, but does remain in very good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 42 5/8 inches in length.
