Although in theory it could be issued to a Border Guard of State Security trooper of any rank, the majority of the recipients were probably officers. The last item to note is the orientation of the flag pole strings near the top being looped toward the center of the badge not just up and over the top of the flags like other early stamped examples.

Big BANNER 1920s USSR OGPU NKVD Rare. Dimensions – 160 cm 150 cm. On the banner is written: On the front – “PROLETARIANS OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE”. In the center is the inscription USSR and the image of the coat of arms of the USSR. On the reverse side, in the upper part there is an inscription – “SPECIAL DIVISION OF THE OGPU”. Early 1920s era Soviet Frontier Troops Furzhaka. Excellent well-stored condition as shown in the images. No tears, pulls, moth nips, staining or other damage. Sweatband and liner show scattered light wear. Visor is tight to the body. Size is approximately a 56. Outstanding and rare example that is guaranteed authentic.
