This is undoubtedly the rarest military photo I have ever owned. Ultra Rare Yard Long Official Photo WW1 USS Georgia w Crew US Navy by JC Crosby. He moved to Norfolk, Va. In the later part of 1920. A list of known Navy photographs he produced is listed in Naval Historical Center Homepage online Library. This one is not listed and may be the only one known to exist. The frame measures approximately 44-1/4 x 10-1/4. The previous owner had it professionally framed with a new dust cover installed. I cut back about a quarter of the dust cover to view a portion of the print itself. I guarantee it to be old and original. There are a few condition issues that are common to photographs of this age. Please scan with the zoom tool to examine it for yourself. The backer board is white so the upper left corner and the few small white spots are holes in the photo. BAYONET AND SCABBARD ARE UNMARKED LESS # 7588 ON BAYO POMMEL. The Belgian FN company had links with the Czech BRNO company and produced an almost identical rifle an blade for export. It is a fact that when necessary the Czech’s supplied the Belgians with weapons to help complete orders, even though they were in direct competition for the same contracts. This further complicates the identification of users etc. As it may be that Czech blades will turn up that were used by countries that were not supplied with Czech weapons officially.
