This vintage hat has some wear from normal use. There is a piece of leather trim off the bill of the cap. It looks like G. The date written in the hat looks like 1925, but I can not be sure. Beginning its service in 1909 and serving in World War I, the USS Vestal was present at Pearl Harbor for the Japanese attack on Dec 7th, 1941 and while not being sunk, was struck by 2 bombs in the attack.
