Secondary Educational Institution Badge which bears the date 1926. The figure in the center of the diamond appears to be the Bronze Horseman (Russian:????????????? , literally “copper horseman”) equestrian statue of Peter the Great in the Senate Square in Saint Petersburg, Russia. A beautiful fifteen inch, boxwood & lacquered brass, parallel rule for navigational use by W H Harling, 47 Finsbury, London. The makers were at this address in the early 1900s. It has a fine, fitted mahogany box. Owned by Vice Admiral Sir Cecil Charles Hughes-Hallett with a brass nameplate attached to one end. This item was given to us by the daughter of Admiral Hughes-Hallett. Sir Cecil Charles Hughes-Hallett. Born on 6 April 1898, Charles Hughes-Hallett was educated at Bedford School, Emmanuel College, Cambridge, the Royal Naval College, Osborne and at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth. He served in the Royal Navy during the First World War and was present at the Battle of the Dardanelles and at the Battle of Jutland. After distinguished service during the Second World War he was appointed as Chief of Staff to the Commander-in-Chief, Home Fleet between 1950 and 1951. He was appointed as Head of British Naval Mission, Washington between 1952 and 1954. The brother of Vice Admiral John Hughes-Hallett CB DSO, Vice Admiral Charles Hughes-Hallett died on 2 December 1985. Please check back often – We are listing items as quickly as possible.

Very nice embossed cardstock covers with tassel cord binding. A horse drawn artillery battery, many of these men went on to serve in WWII, 1937 menus list Captain Hamilton Searight, who died during the Baatan death march in 1942. 5.5″ x 7″ each only 4 pages showing menu and roster.

Charles Augustus Lindbergh b. 1974 was an American aviator, military officer, author, inventor, and activist. At the age of 25, he achieved instantaneous world fame by making the first nonstop flight from New York City to Paris on May 20-21, 1927. The Spirit of St. Louis (Registration: N-X-211) is the custom-built, single engine, single-seat, high wing monoplane flown by Charles Lindberg May 20-21, 1927, on the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight from New York, to France. During the United States occupation of Haiti in 1919 the United States Marine Corps stationed Marine Observation units using HS-1 and HS-2 aircraft in what became Bowen Field.
