This is a very nice example of a German Hirschfanger Dagger Short Sword which dates from the early 20th Century. It is mounted with a lovely straight beefy spearpoint blade that measures 9 3/4 inches in length by 1 1/4 inches at the widest. The blade has survived in beautiful, original condition with only some minor surface blemishes and continues to wear all of its nice markings on either side. It wears a nicely detailed straight German silver crossguard which frames an impressive stag horn hilt that fits well in the grip and features a beautiful silver escutcheon with the itinials of the original owner on one side. The deep rich dark green leather scabbard also remains in very nice original condition with just some wear to the leather finish on the tip. Overall measuring 16 1/8 inches in length. HISTORIC 1933 POSTER BY ERICH. The famed, and now legendary, German poster artist. Erich Ludwig Stahl was commissioned to render this magnificently bold image of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini and his marching guards (see photo #2). This 1933 stamp-dated poster (see photo #3) eerily foreshadows much of the same style of imagery that Adolf Hitler would adopt throughout the 1940’s during his wave of Nazism to come. Stahl was always ahead of the curve. He was best known for his groundbreaking works in German expressionism in the 1910’s and’20s. Today, his 1919 posters from The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari adorn the walls of museums around the world – including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. A very rare find! For sale is a Rare version of a Polish Cavalry Sword wz 1921 or wz. 21, rare troops/NCO version. This Saber was produced by A. Mann, Warsaw (mark on the ricasso) and is numbered 9. On the back of the blade – extremely low number, one of the first ever produced!!!! The sword fits perfectly into the scabbard. Semi-relic condition wit extensive pitting to both hilt and scabbard. Scabbard has a couple of holes as pictured. The blade appears much better, with some dark spots and looks that it was period re-sharpened. Please judge for yourself the condition from the pictures. German Officers and non-commissioned Officers Air Force Complete Dagger 1937. The blade is steel, straight, flat, hexagonal. Two cutting edges polished, no heel. The handle is round, wooden, plastic-topped orange. By spiral grooves handle wrapped with wire. At the bottom of a cylindrical sleeve, decorated with ornaments made of oak leaves. Spherical head handle, molded together with the upper nut. Decorated on both sides of the relief image of a swas and an ornament from oak leaves. The head is screwed onto the blade shank and has a flat circular top a button. Cross-cast, from the front side in the form of a flying eagle carrying a swas in its claws. On the reverse side has a cross dotted background. All metal parts are cast from aluminum hilt. The scabbard is made of metal, solid, surface covered with small dots. This is a very nice example of a World War II Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer Sword mounted with an ancestral blade. The very fine antique Shinto, unsigned blade wears a cutting edge of 27 1/4 inches in length. This quality made blade has survived in very healthy condition, continuing to wear its beautiful polish and does wear a visibly large actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The Sword also wears nice quality Army Shin Gunto Regulation Mounts which all remain very nice as well. The lightweight aluminum Regulation scabbard also remains very nice in its condition and with just a little light scuffing to the finish. Overall, the Sword measures 40 5/8 inches in length. This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword which dates from the World War II Era and is mounted with a blade by Kanenaga who was known for his fine, well made stainless steel blades. This lovely blade wears a cutting edge that measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful original condition with only some very minor surface scratches and a couple of very tiny nicks along the cutting edge. The tang is signed with a signature that translates to Fujiwara Kanenaga Motte? Seitan saku kore and on the other side? Tasugi Shinichi (most likely the name for whom it was made). Kanenaga is also known as the originator of stainless steel blades. The beautiful nice quality Military fittings all remain in very nice, clean condition as well. The LIGHTWEIGHT textured wooden scabbard also remains near perfect in its condition with just a couple of very tiny chips to the finish. Overall measuring 39 inches in length.
