This ORIGINAL, interwar period, USN Naval Aviator ring is 10K gold and hallmarked Harcourt Louisville. The item is size 10. One side of the ring carries the letters “PNAS” which may or may not be Pensacola NAS. The ring is dated 1928 and inscribed H. This bayonet was manufactured by Springfield Armory and is dated 1919. This bayonet is in great condition considering its age. The blade retains most of its finish. There are some runner marks from scabbard wear. The blade does not appear to have been sharpened after it left the factory. There are a few nicks in the edge of the blade. The blade is stamped S A over the flaming bomb and is dated 1919. The opposite side of the blade is stamped US and has the serial number 1061787. The guard is tight and it has no play. The guard is a little bent (see pics, bent on thumb release side). The guard, hilt and pommel all have a nice even patina. There is some light pitting and minor surface rust (nothing serious). The release mechanism is working properly but is a little stiff. The walnut handles are in great shape with no damage that I can see. One panel is stamped 956. This may be a rack number (not sure). The bayonet has an overall length of approximately 20 & inches. There is no scabbard with this bayonet. This bayonet would make a great addition to any collection. So the construction and the material was lowest cost design and production. Please do not forget, this is an antique autentic item, a historical oldtimer radio. Not for all day use. Do not expect a receiving quality radios today have. For example the volume potentiometer. Today the potentiometer is a variable resistor. This DKE38 has not such a potentiometer. You only change the volume with the RF coupling with a moving coil. Also the safety was not as good it is today. Here we have an excellent condition German Volksempfaenger from 1938 DKE38.
