The Mod16C was manufactured in the Netherlands by Artillerie-inrichtingen only in 1927. It has one oblong hole in the brim and no air ventures in the bowl (the M16A and B had three holes). The production was ca 15.000 pieces, what makes it one of the most difficult helmets to find. (production austrian berndorfer helmet: ca 140.000). The Mod16 models were used until the introduction of the M27 steel helmet Nieuw Model. When the Dutch Army went short of helmets in the 30s it was re-introduced and repainted.
