Inter-War French Army Officer Dress Jacket. This is a fantastic example of an Inter-War French Army Artillery Officer Dress Jacket. Upon the Collar you can find a pair of Bullion Embroidered Artillery Officer Patches as well as a pair of Gilt Lieutenant Rank Stripes on both cuffs. On the Chest you can find a Croix du Combattant (Combatant Cross) Ribbon. The Jacket does not have a size tag or stamp but measures out to a 34-Inch Chest. The condition of this Jacket is fantastic with the only issues being some soiling across the Jacket and some small moth holes in the liner as well as a period repaired rip under the left arm, otherwise there are no tears or missing buttons present. Royal Canadian Artillery Lieutenant Named Offices Mess Dress Jacket.
Offered here is an extremely rare example of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) OD wool jacket also referenced on some books as the wool version of the Type A-1 Flight Jacket. This model was developed by the Quartermasters Corps during the 30’s. The design was actually inspired on the A-1 flight jacket, but in this case unlined olive drab wool replaced the leather shell panels. Windproof knit cuffs followed the same style of the A-1, but the choker collar was replaced by a knit shawl collar closer to the civilian cossack style. Beveled pocket flaps echoed the pocket flaps on the coat. Finally, the waistband was changed to an elasticized band in a muticolored wool knit secured with two buttons to ensure a wind-tight fit. The condition of this example is amazing considering is over 80 years old. All parts are genuine to the jacket. All buttons are present and firm. Tags shows to be a size 42. Right shoulder bears a PFC rank chevron. There is some confusion among collectors due to the resemblance to the A-1 flight jacket, but there is no evidence that this jacket was designed for the Army Air Forces or was ever original issued to pilots. However, the fact is that at least some surplus CCC work jackets were reissued to Army Air Forces ground crews during World War II. Let me know if you have any questions. All sales are final. 1929 24th REGIMENT of FOOT BRITISH ARMY UNIFORM JACKET MAJOR CV KING. With pips on shoulders which read Tria Juncta in Uno (Latin for 3 joined in 1), the Order of Bath. It has original Hawkes & Co Ltd label on inner pocket, dated 1929, size 16? And with the soldiers name “Maj CV King”??? Found at an estate with a note stating it was a 24th Regt of Foot officers mess jacket. Some light exterior dimples on the collar. Inner lining has several small stained spots with holes near collar, otherwise very foos condition for almost 100 years of age. Chest is about 16″w and it measures 18 1/2″ from collar to bottom hem of tail. Failure to read full description may result in delays and misunderstandings. I do not set rates and can’t afford to absorb these costs, being a small operation.
