And Cavalry Branch Lapel Insignia, 2 Overseas Service Chevrons 1 Year Overseas Service AEF Allied Expeditionary Forces World War One, Sam Browne Belt, Khaki Officers Shirt, and Khaki Tie. Raphael Walter (Jun 2, 1887 – Jul 19, 1966) was a Prominent Baltimore Lawyer who served as a 1st Lieutenant in WWI with the 80th Infantry Division 315th Field Artillery in the Meuse-Argonne and St Mihiel Campaigns. This uniform was his interwar service with the 153rd Cavalry Brigade in Baltimore, we cannot find definitive records but this is a very common occurrence. Overall a Great Condition & Example of a Pre-War Uniform as Photographed with wear and a stain to the khaki shirt as seen – Recent Estate Acquisition & Presented as Acquired, Scarce (Photos 20 – 24 Reference Only) Warrants Further Research, Obituary Below. “Raphael Walter, 79, 50 Years A Lawyer”. Private funeral services have been scheduled for Raphael Walter, a Baltimore attorney who died unexpectedly yesterday after more than half a century of practicing law here. Walter, 79, a partner in the firm of Nyburg, Goldman and Walter for most of his career, followed in the legal footsteps of his father, Moses R. He lived at 5601 Waycrest lane, Poplar Hill, and was active in his profession until the day he died. Colleagues called him “sharp, ” “straight-forward” and a fair lawyer of the old school. A native of Baltimore county, Mr. Walter was graduated from St. Paul’s School in Concord, N. And from Yale University in 1909. He earned his law degree from the University of Maryland just before the outbreak of World War I. As a first lieutenant in that conflict, he directed howitzer fire for the 30th Division in action at St. Walter was a patron of cultural and civic endeavors, including the Anna May Hunter Home for the Blind here. The attorney was a member of the American Legion, Maryland and Baltimore city bar associations. Survivors include his wife, the former Nancy Baker; two daughters, Mrs. Kirk, of Baltimore, and Mrs. Teare, of Manila, and four grandchildren.
