The poster features artwork showing a US Navy sailor in the War of 1812 along with an image of modern naval personnel with a title that reads. The Valiant Spirit Of Our Navy Makes Better Americans – Enlist and Be One. The artwork shows the dates 1812 and 1932 and the lower margin is printed “5-6-32″ so thus the date. Also printed in the lower margin is text that reads Compliments to H. Burbank with this being a reference to acclaimed Swedish-American painter Harry Reuterdahl who had designed several WWI era posters for the US Navy. This is a rare poster as far fewer posters were produced during the interwar period than during WWI or WWII. Overall condition is very good. Photos 1919 INFANTRY CAMP & AFRICAN AMERICANS Birmingham ALA Fokker D VII KYROCK. This is one of many great vintage & antique items we’re currently listing from various estates. Please take a look at our store categories and merchandise. Old Loose Album Pages Military Training Camp & Various Scenes c1919. Photos on these album pages are mostly of soldiers in training at either Fort McClellan or Camp Sheridan in Alabama. Many of the photos, though pasted down, were developed in nearby Birmingham which may be a clue to the exact training facility. All photos date to approximately 1919. Three photos (seen below) + one are loose. 75 photographs in total. A number of these have writing on the back if they can be safely removed from the old black construction paper. I’ve scanned everything and there’s some great historic imagery. A number of pictures feature local folks like the children seen in the first photo. Also captured on these album pages are some pictures of a large public or private pool. Then there are pictures of an event where a German WWI fighter plane is on display a Fokker D. I suspect these photos may have been taken in Ohio. First photo seen below has great “Clue” title on the back: “Bryan with the corn pitcher in the library”. 75 Photos Measuring Various Small Sizes.
