This is a good example of a War-Time Japanese Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a lovely, unmarked, oil-tempered blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 24 1/4 inches in length. The blade is uncleaned, untouched in its condition with a light surface oxidation now developed which could be cleaned up in the right hands, and does continue to wear it beautiful, wide actively wavy temper line. All the fittings including the wrapping remain very nice and are wonderfully accentuated with fabulous golden civilian lobster menuki on either side. The War-Time wooden scabbard wears a leather combat covering that although is a bit weathered with some of the stitching now loose, does remain in good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 39 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Check out my other items. The item “NICE JAPANESE ARMY OFFICER SWORD” is in sale since Monday, December 19, 2016. This is a rare and seldom encountered Rumanian Naval Officer’s Sword which dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a very nice slightly curved blade that measures 31 1/8 inches in length. The blade is beautifully etched on either side and remains in wonderful, original condition with just some minor surface blemishes and is well marked by the maker Carl Eickhorn Solingen on the ricasso. The guard wears an intricately detailed birdhead pommel with the accentuating detailing extending along the backstrap, and is wonderfully enhanced with a lovely floral motif that frames a roped anchor upon the face of the guard. The guard has also survived in beautiful condition and with much of the original gold wash still brightly present. The hard composite hilt remains very nice as well with the original twisted wire wrap tight and secure. The very attractive scabbard is dressed with beautifully coordinating fittings and although the leather finish is a bit scuffed, does remain in very nice serviceable condition. Overall measuring 37 7/8 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Check out my other items. BRAZIL PAULISTA REVOLUTION HELMET. This is one version of 3 versions of a 1932 Brazilian Civil War Paulistas Steel Helmet manufactured in Brazil. Using the design of the French M-15 Helmet and modified to suit the Brazilian Paulistas needs. The main difference is the way the helmet shell is pressed out of one piece of steel instead of being put together from three pieces as the French Helmet was and the other is the air vent on the top of the helmet shell. This version of the Paulistas helmet has an air vent which is pressed into the top of the helmet shell and holes drilled around the protrusion. The second version of this helmet uses the French system where the air vent on the top of the shell is covered by a comb however the comb on the Paulistas helmet is very small compared to the French helmet. This helmet shell is with the original painting. There is no liner or chin-strap. Overall, this helmet shell is in good condition for it’s age and whatever use it may have had in my opinion. The item “Brazil / Paulista Revolution Helmet -1932″ is in sale since Saturday, April 23, 2016. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Militaria\1919-38\Original Period Items”. This impressive album is 15 x 11.5 with approximately 275 photographs. It is incredibly well done. The photographs are in very nice shape; the cover has. The images document the service of a Marine, assigned to Marine Scouting Squadron VS-1M and begin with photographs of Marine Barracks San Diego, followed by the units deployment to Guam. It helped establish Orote Field at the Apra Harbor Naval Station, the first Marine aviation base in the Pacific. It concludes with images of the Philippines and China. In 1925 fighting between Chinese warlords reached the city of Shanghai, and twice during the year small contingents of Marines landed in the city to protect American interests. In 1927, a more serious threat blossomed as one of the Chinese forces pushed towards the city crushing all opposition in its path and panicking the International Settlement. Remembering the Boxer Rebellion and fearful of recent Communist depredations, the residents of the community clamored for their governments to provide protection. So, in early 1927, the United States ordered the initial deployment of about 340 Marines from Guam to Shanghai including Marine Scouting Squadron VS-1M. Highlights of this album include images of. Marine Barracks San Diego, California. A number of identified naval warships. Many Marine aircraft including what appear to be Curtis HS-2L seaplanes and Boeing FB-1 fighters. Orote Field including hangars, shops, and target practice with 7mm guns. Departing Guam and life in the Philippines a. Baseball, the Dreamland Night Club and brothel, docks, facilities, Philippine locals, railroad travel, urban and rural life, etc. Life in China the U. Legation, warships, soldiers from several countries including what appears to be a mule-drawn U. Army artillery piece, local Chinese, a camel caravan, scenes of the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, etc. One of the nicest military photo albums weve seen, and a rare visual record of early Marine aviation in the Pacific and the initial establishment of long-term U. Military presence in pre-World War II China. View My Other Items For Sale.
