Original 1920’s US Navy dress sword as shown. Original uncleaned condition from the family estate. Overall length in the scabbard is 33 5/8. The blade just under 28 long. Knight on one side of blade. Records show as Lt. Commander of the Navy Intelligence division, serving in (at least) the years of 1923 and 1924. Marked only “proved” without a maker’s name. The blade is unsharpened as a dress sword (the tip is sharp). The handle is a natural shark? Skin that has some wear and missing spots on one side at the guard. Otherwise excellent condition overall. This is an older strait blade police sword , with the Prussian dove head design. The maker marks are lightly been removed at one time. The leather scabbard is in above good condition , as is the German silver plating, on the throat of the scabbard, the d guard, the drag , and the dove head. This has initials on the frog as well as the name and the company of the person who captured it , but is hard to read. The blade is 25 1/4 inches long, and the scabbard has a stud to attach to the belt. If anyone knows what model or maker please past it on to me. This sword is 32 inches long, and has a slight dimple in the drag. The wooden grip is in above good condition , as is the blade, with the tinniest bit of rounding on the tip. The leather frog has some wear around the stud hole. The belt slide is strong, and the black leather scabbard in above good condition. Overall it is an honest original set that has that out of the attic look to it, not overly cleaned or restored. Pre-WWII German Hunting Shooting Dagger, Hirschfanger Double Engraved w Scabbard. Blade is unmarked but features etched hunting scenes on both sides. Item is used and has signs of wear. There are some scratches and scuffs on the hardware. Blade has a few areas with some light patina. Blade is sturdy and straight. Blade edge is not sharp. The bone handle is free of any chips or cracks. There is some damage around the edges of the acorn ornaments on the handle. Handle is secure and not loose. The decorative guard is loose. Scabbard brass has some scuffs and patina. The leather is in fair visual condition, but is dried out and the sewing is deteriorated on the back. Includes only items pictured. GIRTH, Training Saddle Model 1916, M1926 and M1930 Was the first type to be used on the M1928 McClellan Cavalry Saddle, saber straps and saddlebag side straps were run under the outer strand and then buckled, this was not satisfactory so D rings were added in manufacture for girths intended for use on M1928 McClellans. Will fit the M1917 Officer’s Saddle and US Marquis Officer Saddle. Us stamped US JQMD with a 1933 or’38 date. Each buckle is stamped “SOLID NICKEL”. Three of the four Spacer Strips are damaged, see pictures. The web material is intact and sound as are the buckles and their billets. See pictures for details and condition. This is an officer P-26’Droop Winged Goonie Bird’ collar EGA that belonged to General William P. In 1920, he served as a geologist surveying the Alaskan coal fields as a member of the Naval Alaskan Coal Commission. He was later assigned to the American Legation in Peking, China. During this tour, he participated in Dr Roy Chapman Andrews’ third expedition to the Gobi Desert in Mongolia as a topographer. He later served in Haiti, served as a liaison officer during the construction of Camp Lejeune, and served as the Marine Corps Quartermaster General.
