Very Nice Large Japanese Army Dress Sword
This is a very nice example of a Large Japanese Army Officer’s Sword, Type 19 and would have been in service all the way up to World War II. The impressively large blade measures 32 3/4 inches in length by 1 1/4 inches at the widest and remains in superb original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The brass hilt wears a beautifully detailed pommel with a lovely pierced work guard and is mounted with a large beefy carved horn grip that also remains very healthy and with its twisted wire wrap still tightly intact. The large plated scabbard remains very nice in its condition as well with no dings and only a small bit of minor flaking. Overall measuring 40 inches in length.
