This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Artillery Short Sword Pattern 1886. It is mounted with a blade that measures 21 3/8 inches in length which remains in superb condition with very good markings. The Japanese markings on the ricasso translate to “TOKYO ARTILLERY ARSENAL” as well as “Meiji 21″ which translates to “1888”. The beautiful brass hilt has a symmetrical brass crossguard and spiral grooves and also remains in very good, sturdy condition with a lovely aged patina now developed. The leather scabbard fittings have a few small dings, nevertheless the leather remains very healthy with the stitching perfectly tight and both staples securely in place. Early 20th Century US Naval Officer’s Full Dress Cocked Hat/Chapeau, Shoulder Epaulettes, and Carrying Case. Probably for a Lieutenant. According to my research, these are from the early 20th century… Condition: Very nice, with a few loose areas (see photos). 7″ L x 5 1/2″ W x 3 1/2 Fringe Length. Made by The Wm. Measures 19″ total length x 7″ Total Width x 5 1/2 Total Height. With the exception of the areas where black “fur” is rubbed off. Black exterior isn’t metal, but some kind of hard pressed material. Brass corners, hinges, latches. Purplish Velvet interior (see photos). Name on latches is Corbin. Measures 19″ x 8″ x 7. Definitely used, but in good vintage condition. This is a very good example of a well made Thai / Siamese Army Officer Dagger. It is mounted with a beautiful plain blade that measures 11 3/16 inches in length which remains in nice condition with only minor surface blemishes. The hilt wears a wonderfully detailed elephant head pommel that frames a samé covered hilt which remains very nice in its condition as well and with its original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place.
