Arm Rack Model 1920 is what it says on top. (see picture 3) This is a vintage U. The rack is in great shape. The top is made of bronze as to not scratch the barrel. Original Usmc Brevet Medal Obsolete
The Marine Corps Brevet medal was considered to be the equivalent of the Navy Cross although in precedence it ranks just behind the Medal of Honor. This item was acquired in 2001 from a nationally known dealer who acquired it from a museum. This is all the provenance I have. On the back of the pin are these 2 seals… The upper seal reads – Local No. 4 Amaluamans Lithographers of America Chicago Union Laber The bottom seal reads – Union Laber with a picture of the Coat of Arms. Amaluamans Lithographers of America. These pins are from the time of the Civil War in Spain: 1936 – 1939. I have a good lot of these – discovered in upstate New York. Original Irish War Of Independence Medal With Comrac Bar 1917 1921
War of Independence Medal, with Comrac Bar, in box of issue, The General Service medal 1919-21 which was awarded to all those who could prove that they took part in the Irish War of Independence. This medal is also known as the Black & Tan Medal, or the War of Independence medal. On 21st January 1941, the Irish Government announced the creation of a medal for those who tool part in the War of Independence. It was issued without Comrac bar to those who were not deemed to have been on active service during the War of Independence, but who were members of the old-Irish Republican Army, the Irish Citizens Army, Fianna Eireann and the Cumann na mBann. Men and women with actual active and armed service such as the famous flying columns were issued with this medal with the additional Comrac bar. This example has the Comrac bar and this signifies that the recipient fought in armed conflict during this period. The blade is steel, straight, flat, hexagonal. Two cutting edges polished, no heel. The handle is round, wooden, plastic-topped orange. By spiral grooves handle wrapped with wire. At the bottom of a cylindrical sleeve, decorated with ornaments made of oak leaves. Spherical head handle, molded together with the upper nut. Decorated on both sides of the relief image of a s and an ornament from oak leaves. The head is screwed onto the blade shank and has a flat circular top a button. Cross-cast, from the front side in the form of a flying eagle carrying a s in its claws. On the reverse side has a cross dotted background. All metal parts are cast from aluminum hilt. The scabbard is made of metal, solid, surface covered with small dots. The end of the sheath round, with three embossed belts, decorated with ornaments made of oak leaves. Dimensions: Overall length: 430 mm, blade length: 255 mm, width of the blade: 18 mm. There is a “RZM” tag under the sweat band. It comes with an original photo that was in the sweat band. I have more photos if needed. It is original and has not been restored. I find it inaccurate. Springfield Armory M1905 Dated 1921 Model 1903 Rifle Bayonet & Leather Scabbard
Gun Model: Springfield 1903 or M1 Garand (later used in WWII). The left ricasso is marked with “S A”, bomb, and “1921”. The right side is marked U. The Scabbard is marked “RIA / 1921″ on the front of the top strap and “RIA”, what appears to be “1909” and T. On the back of the main body. Description: This is a Pattern M1905 that was made in 1921, after WWI, with a 1921 dated Rock Island Armory leather wrapped and leather tipped wood scabbard. The blade measures 15 7/8″ long, OAL is 20 1/2″. Overall Condition: The metal of the bayonet has a blue finish on the blade, the guard, hilt and pommel are parkerized and according to our research, these early items would have been all Parkerized. The blade metal has been refinished, the other surfaces appear original, it was probably done by an arsenal, perhaps for WWII use. The metal shows cleaned erosion and imperfections under the finish, along with a few areas of erosion through the current finish. The blade is semi-sharp but there are no indications that it was sharpened after refinishing; the cutting edge has some waiver in its line. The surfaces show scattered scuff marks and a few infrequent darkened patina areas. The cross guard has scuffs, rub wear and areas of patina. The grips are the correct later semi-grooved type, which show a few light marks. There are no cracks or major damages. The bayonet is in Fine condition. The scabbard is leather wrapped with a brown leather tip and brass hanger, the canvas and leather are roughed and discolored, the material remains strong with small losses, the hanger has natural patina, also found as verdigris on the rivets. The leather is leaching white color, as natural of the fats escaping over time. For its age and role in world history, this lot has survived quite well.
