For sale is an absolute fine example of the Greek M34-39 steel combat helmet. This Italian made helmet was ordered by the Greek government shortly before the Italian invasion of Greece. The consignment was never completed. The helmets were delivered without liner and without paint. The Greek liner shows a Greek cross surmounted by a crown and the size of the helmet (57 in this case) and the words Greek Army in greek alphabet. This helmet has a very smooth and complete original liner. The bowl is finished in the original paint. You can see some scratches on the pictures. A beautiful helmet that belongs in every serious helmet collection. See the pictures and have a look at my other advertisements. 90 year old clock in a beautiful authentic wooden case. Very rare to see clock of that age in that kind of condition. And even more rare to know which vessel exactly the clock belonged to. Maxim Gorky (famous soviet writer) whose name was chosen to name a big soviet crusier that was built in 1938 – 900 crew members. You can see a picture of an actual cruiser attached. More about cruiser history below. Maxim Gorky (Russian:) was a Project 26bis Kirov-class cruiser of the Soviet Navy that saw action during World War II and continued in service into the Cold War. She saw no further action in World War II. A major modernization was begun in 1953, but the navy reconsidered the cost-effectiveness of the refit and work was cancelled in 1955. Maxim Gorky was laid down at the Ordzhonikidze Yard, Leningrad on 20 December 1936 as a slightly improved version, Project 26bis as designated by the Soviets, of the first pair of Kirov-class cruisers, which were called Project 26. She was launched on 30 April 1938 and was completed on 12 December 1938. [6] For most of the rest of the war she was blockaded in Leningrad and Kronstadt by Axis minefields and could only provide gunfire support for the defenders during the Siege of Leningrad, for example she fired 285 180 mm shells on 4 September 1941 and 701 rounds during the Krasnoye SeloRopsha Offensive in January 1944. The cruiser was awarded the Order of the Red Banner on 22 March for her “exemplary fulfillment of combat missions” and the “courage and valor” demonstrated by her crew. [7] She also bombarded Finnish positions as part of the 4th Artillery Group during the Soviet VyborgPetrozavodsk Offensive in June, firing a hundred 180 mm shells off Kuokkala on 9 June. A Very Unique Mannlicher Carbine Model 95 NCO Bayonet. The NCO Bayonet has the ring hole in the steel handle – much rarer Bayonet Type – see pictures # 5 and #6. This is a rare and very desirable marked M95 Manlicher Bayonet Set from my personal collection. The blade has the CEWG code on the Blade – Picture # 3 – on the other side is the Double Headed Imperial Eagle – picture # 4 – Scabbard has Imperial Double headed Eagle on the Metal tad and CEWG Code. Of the side- -see picture #3. This Bayonet is a very desirable and hard to find Historic Collectable- , but with the unusual marks AND BEING AN NCO MODEL – it puts it in a class by itself – it is much more desirable. IT IS MATCHING BY CODE CEWG AND DOUBLE HEADED EAGLE. Faint eagle marking on bayonet frog and CEWG ON Blade. Research could really pay off on this Bayonet Set. The metal frog hook on the metal scabbards were re-inforced. By brass brazing at the arsenal and then simply painted over the braze with black paint – usually after all their use some of the brass is showing – I prefer to leave orginal, but it would be easy for owners to spot paint again. The Rifles and Bayonets were substitute standard for German Army support troops during WWII and also issued to German Military Police. Note: The blade has not been sharpened since leaving the Gov’t Arsenal. Bayonet buttons for attaching to rifles are always checked and work fine! This Bayonet is for the Model 1895 Mauser Mannlicher Carbine, not the WW 11 K98K Mauser Rifle. GENUINE AND VERY DESIRABLE OLDER MILITARY COLLECTABLE AT A FAIR AND REASONABLE PRICE.
