Erich Ludwig Stahl was commissioned to render this magnificently bold image of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini and his marching guards (see photo #2). This 1933 stamp-dated poster (see photo #3) eerily foreshadows much of the same style of imagery that Adolf Hitler would adopt throughout the 1940’s during his wave of Nazism to come. This is a very nice example of a German Hirschfanger Dagger Short Sword which dates from the early 20th Century. It is mounted with a lovely straight beefy spearpoint blade that measures 9 3/4 inches in length by 1 1/4 inches at the widest. The blade has survived in beautiful, original condition with only some minor surface blemishes and continues to wear all of its nice markings on either side. It wears a nicely detailed straight German silver crossguard which frames an impressive stag horn hilt that fits well in the grip and features a beautiful silver escutcheon with the itinials of the original owner on one side. The deep rich dark green leather scabbard also remains in very nice original condition with just some wear to the leather finish on the tip. Overall measuring 16 1/8 inches in length.
