Original Eibar steel Helmet Mk34-38 from Spain, Spanish Civil War. The Eibar helmet is named for the Basque city where they were manufactured. Its officially known as the Model 1934 (some say M38 as well) and is one of the harder to find helmets from the Spanish Civil War. The front has an attachment for a badge, meaning it was used by the troops of general Franco. It has a nice chinstrap and smooth original color. Czech model 1930 combat helmet, issued and used during the Spanish civil war. Nice example of a scarce helmet. These were initially developped for the Czech military, but not witheld as the final choice. They were mainly exported to Spain, Ethiopia and the Netherlands!!! And saw extensive use during the Spanish civil war. Shell has no dings, cracks or holes. Two typical Austro-Hungarian vent lugs, one on each side. It has a smooth green-greyish paint. “Front” has two tiny holes punched in, to accomodate an insigna. It’s never really clear how the Spanish wore these.. Bigger visor in front, or in the back.. And depended mostly on whomever got it issued. The liner is the standard Spanish 3-pad leather one. Consisting of 3 leather parts fixed on a leather liner band, wich is rivetted to the shell. The chinstrap is some kind of replacement from the civil war… They used whatever they could lay their hands on. A great addition to any collection! Trough the European Union aswell. Offered for sale is an original Spanish Civil War German Luftwaffe Condor Legion M35 helmet with the original liner and chin strap. The original Luftwaffe blue paint is visible in the interior dome. All split rivets are unbuggered. The chin strap is intact. Some splits and wear are present on the leather liner. The shell is a small size 62. Rivet holes for the Spanish Eagle are present on the front of the helmet. The lot code looks to be 3086 or 3066. There are no visible markings on the chinstrap. It is 100% correct and original. This is a German manufactured helmet, not a Spanish copy. At a maximum only 14,000 were used by the German volunteers, far fewer than any “Elite” helmet. Although there is no date on the hat, the year can be determined by the symbol on the hat, which is that of a hammer and plow. This was the symbol of Soviet Russia prior to 1922, when the classic hammer and sickle symbol became their new official emblem. This hat is leather, belonging to a member of the Cheka (All-Russian Extraordinary Commission – established in December 1917). The deeds of the Cheka are well-known and they were even despised by many communists upon their creation. Dzerzhinsky once said that in the Cheka there were two types of people,’sinners’ and’saints’, but acknowledged that unfortunately’we have too many sinners’. It is in relatively good condition considering how leather ages. It is 100% original. This is an extremely rare item. You will never see another hat like it ever again. In all my years of collecting, my son has only seen it once himself, and that was when he bought it. If you have any questions or would like to see more pictures, please ask.
