This is a good example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with an ancestral blade that wears a cutting edge of 19 inches in length. The blade although is in need of a professional polish, does remain in good condition with just some minor openings but no cracks and no bends. The tang wears two holes and shows to have been shortened leaving only a portion of the signature Omidajo Fuji? The large D-guard remains in nice condition with some of the original gild still present and is enhanced with a silver family mon on the backstrap. The beautiful white rayskin covered hilt is a bit damaged near the peg hole, otherwise remains very healthy in its condition and a small portion of the original twisted wire wrap is still present. This is a good example of a War Time Era Japanese Sword carried by an Army Officer during World War II. It is mounted with an ancestral, streamline KOTO blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in nice condition with a lovely straight temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The blade has some scratches and surface blemishes as well as has a small parallel opening crack on the cutting edge near the tip. The tang wears two holes and shows to have been cleaned with fitted during the war. All the fittings remain very nice and clean in their condition. The leather combat covered wooden scabbard wears two carrying rings and remains in very nice serviceable condition. Overall, the Sword measures 37 1/2 inches in length. This is an example of a Japanese Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a hand-forged blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 26 1/2 inches in length. The blade remains healthy with some minor surface blemishes and a few tiny nicks to the cutting edge, nevertheless is in nice condition and boasts a lovely large temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The well signed tang wears characters which translate to “BIZEN NAGAMITSU “. Although tight, the hilt is darkly stained however, all the fittings remain nice and the scabbard had some scuffing to the finish but does remain in good serviceable condition and has no dings. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Army NCO Sword, Type 95. It wears a brass guard and is mounted with a cast aluminum hilt painted to resemble the Officer’s pattern which continues to wear some of the original paint and does remain in nice, tight condition. The machine made blade measures 26 3/8 inches in length. The blade also has survived in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. Pre WW2 1927 China US Army 15th Regiment Tientsin 320+ Photographs Tianjin Photo Album was put together by US Army Soldier who served with the 15th Regiment Company “L” in Tientsin China. Not sure on exact date or name of the Soldier but is between 1925 to 1927 I believe. There is a large group photograph in beginning of album very sharp (10.5 by 7 inches) that may show George Marshall who was commanding the 15th Regiment at that time. I have attached many photographs some are scanned and other taken with a camera. Some loose photos and some missing on the pages. Photo are not stuck in, however the corner tabs have stuck to the front of the images. So left on the images is a small black remnant on the photo corner. Some corners have disconnected from the corner holders. These probably can be moistened and removed if so desired. I did pull a few off to see if there was some description on the reverse. I counted over 330 photographs. Over 90% are China with the remainder Philippines and a few Stateside. Please scroll down to see the photos of the album. I took some photos with camera and another group with a flatbed scanner. Photographs are a mix of Postcard sized Photos 5.5 by 3.25, 4.25 by 2.5 inches and 3.5 and 2.5 inches.
