NICE JAPANESE ARMY SHIN GUNTO OFFICER SWORD BY NAGAMITSU
This is an example of a Japanese Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a hand-forged blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 26 1/2 inches in length. The blade remains healthy with some minor surface blemishes and a few tiny nicks to the cutting edge, nevertheless is in nice condition and boasts a lovely large temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The well signed tang wears characters which translate to “BIZEN NAGAMITSU “. Although tight, the hilt is darkly stained however, all the fittings remain nice and the scabbard had some scuffing to the finish but does remain in good serviceable condition and has no dings.
