B/w 4.25″ x 3.25″ & 6 qty. 5.5″ x 3.25″ b/w images. There are only two duplicate photos. Collection also includes an invitation to a dance at the International YMCA and a copy of Between War and Peace by Carol Wilcox Melton. With fewer than 8,000 U. Troops involved with the AEF, very little material has survived to this day. This collection is truly a historic treasure trove of rare, never before seen images. What makes this collection particularly better than others are the dozens of rare images of Mongolian peasant and villager life in and around Hailar, Mongolia. Very few AEF photos I have seen online show the local population. Subjects include but not limited to. Chinese New Years street festival. Chinese uniform school boys. Mongolian Buddhist monks and Lamas. Chinese Eastern Railroad construction & trains. Vladivostack streets & Russian troop march. Buddhist temples and shrines. Mongolian horse thief serving sentence. I obtained this Tachi in Japan and have kept this sword in a long list of restoration projects but time and other family objecttives force this one to go to someone else. It is in old nice polish, bohi grooves on both sides and unsigned. It has a cutting edge of just under 79cm. Heavy sword with no chips, bends and small kissaki with. This would be an awesome restoration project and candidate for shinsa judging. The Edo period Tachi style mounts are really nice and with the length and deep sori of this sword is an exceptional historic Japanese Swords as is. This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword which dates from the World War II Era and is mounted with a blade by Kanenaga who was known for his fine, well made stainless steel blades. This lovely blade wears a cutting edge that measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful original condition with only some very minor surface scratches and a couple of very tiny nicks along the cutting edge. The tang is signed with a signature that translates to Fujiwara Kanenaga Motte? Seitan saku kore and on the other side? Tasugi Shinichi (most likely the name for whom it was made). Kanenaga is also known as the originator of stainless steel blades. The beautiful nice quality Military fittings all remain in very nice, clean condition as well. The LIGHTWEIGHT textured wooden scabbard also remains near perfect in its condition with just a couple of very tiny chips to the finish. Overall measuring 39 inches in length. 22 POLISH POLAND ORDER OF THE WHITE EAGLE, GRAND CROSS, Polands highest decoration. The cross is made in sterling gold gilt and enamels in three parts design, 72 mm, star 75 mm. Collectors should be aware that the II Republic of Poland awarded only 95 White Eagles before WWII. I have no idea how many were made in France and for whom. I estimate that no more then 20. VINTAGE early aerial camera, military green. I believe it is missing the lens attachment. Not a whole lot of information out there on this particular model but pretty sure is was made in the late 20’s early 30’s and used on planes to take photographs. Seems to work ok as you crank the handle and the window opens and takes the picture. There is also a built in counter that records how many pics are taken. A really cool awesome camera and would make a nice display piece. Please see all pics for more detail, size and condition. The last 2 pictures are of similar design so you can see how these big cameras were used. The co destruction is made of brass, steel and wood. These are original WW1 era Chevrons. These Chevrons are in excellent condition one small mouth nip but still displayable. These do not pop up that often. Vintage chevrons are getting harder to find.
