This is a good example of a Late War Japanese Naval Officer’s Kai Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a lovely Arsenal stainless steel blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 23 1/2 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with only some minor surface scratches and the tang wears an arsenal anchor stamp. The hilt and all the fittings remain in very nice original condition as well. The wooden scabbard is black textured finished and also remains very nice with just a little minor scuffing. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Naval Officer’s Dress Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a beautiful machine made blade that measures 25 5/8 inches in length which although shows to have been lightly cleaned, does remain in nice condition. The D-guard is beautifully detailed with pretty cherry blossoms “sakura” motifs that adorn the pommel, the backstrap and the guard face and frame a lovely white samé covered hilt with the original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The wonderful shagreen covered scabbard has one scuff on one side, nevertheless also remains is in very nice condition and wears equally beautiful detailed fittings. This is an example of a Japanese / Taiwan Colonial Sword that would have been carried by Japanese Officials assigned to the Colonial Administration of Taiwan. It is mounted with a machine made blade that measures 28 3/8 inches in length which although is a bit stained and has been lightly sharpened, does remain in good condition. The plain guard remains very nice and in tight, sturdy condition. The guard frames a beautiful black samé covered hilt with its original twisted wire wrap still nicely in place. The smooth black lacquered scabbard is a bit scuffed but does remain in very good serviceable condition as well as wears equally beautiful coordinating fittings. This is a very good example of a Japanese Police Lieutenant Level Sword which dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a machine made blade that measures 23 1/2 inches in length which remains in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The beautifully detailed guard wears the Police emblem (16-Ray Badge) on the backstrap near the pommel as well as very nice, intricately detailed leafy designs with cherry blossoms. The lovely hilt is nicely fishskin wrapped that shows a little good honest wear, nevertheless its original twisted wire wrap does remain tightly in place. The plated metal scabbard also reflects a bit of wear to its plating but does remain in nice serviceable as well and has no dings. Overall measuring 31 3/8 inches in length. Up for sale we have a very nice early Japanese Army dress sword. This early Japanese dress sword has a beautiful rayskin grip you usually do not see and also has a faux hamon. Dating Pre World War II, this is a beautiful set of three British General Officer Dress Jackets along with one Vest. There is one formal Jacket which remains very nice in its condition and features a gilded “pearl” trim that nicely coordinates with the vest and continues to wear the outstanding shoulder boards with decorative insignias on either side. There is one very small tear inside the collar on the black liner and very light mothing but no holes. The informal Jacket also wears its shoulder board with decorative insignias however their buttons are missing. This Jacket also has some light mothing but no holes and remains very nice as well. Both Jackets measure 17 inches across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam and both measure 22 inches from the top of the collar to the peak of their hem lines. The blade itself is much older and is a koto period Samurai Katana that was remounted in the 1890’s for the current mounts. I have kept this sword in a long list of restoration projects but time and other projects force this one to go to someone else. It has a cutting edge length of just under 66cm, full length bohi engravings on both sides. It has awesome grain showing in the blade and it is in old great polish. The handle is complete but it is missing the locking latch on the side so the blade does not lock into the saya (scabbard).
