Offered here is this original, pre-WWII Longines Majetek military wristwatch made for Czech pilots. Large size, the case measures about 2″ long (50mm) overall, 22mm (9/16″) (strap width) between the lugs, and 40mm wide (1 1/2) excluding the crown. The watch is all original except for the crystal and strap. Watch was serviced and restored over 30 years ago. It still sets and runs well, but loses about a minute in a 24 hour period, so it likely in need of a cleaning once again. The original black dial has been touched up and the numbers and hands were re-painted with flourescent paint which has again chipped off in places. (see photos) The stainless case and crown are in excellent shape, and the text on the back of the case is crisp and deep. Property of the military administration. This is the third series of the Majetek, and the serial number of the bright 17j movement is correct for third series. The 22mm leather NATO type strap is a modern replacement, but suits the style of an aviator. Guaranteed to be original and as described. A scarce and desireable WWII pilot’s watch. Measures 5 wide by 1 3/4 tall. The front reads U. The round disc is flanked by a wing on each side. Has a black cotton mesh on the reverse side. Raised gold bullion wire machine embroidered on an OD green wool backing with a copper disc in the center. This wing is still enclosed in the original clear cellophane wrapper which is stapled on one end. Postal Service is causing. The obverse depicting a bare headed bust left, the reverse with the Prince of Wales’ feathers, unnamed, with suspension loop and ribbon for wearing. Diameter approximately 51mm, maker’s marks for. British hallmarks for Birmingham, 1921. The reverse of the medal is centering on the badge for the Prince of Wales within the Garter and surrounded by the collar and suspending the Most Exalted Order of The Star of India. It depicts the profile of Queen Victoria surmounted by a five pointed star, with the motto of the Order. Heaven’s Light Our Guide. This Order was founded by Queen Victoria on 23rd February 1861 and was awarded to Indian Princes and British Subjects for distinguished and loyal service to the Indian Empire. The Order is no longer awarded and there have been no appointments since 1947. Only 84 medals of this type were awarded to Indian officers and police to mark the Royal Tour of India.
