This is a good example of a Japanese Naval Officer’s Dress Sword which dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a beautiful machine made blade that measures 25 5/8 inches in length which remains in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The lovely D-guard is beautifully detailed and frames a samé covered hilt with the original wire wrap still tightly in place. Pretty cherry blossoms “sakura” motifs adorn the pommel, the backstrap and the guard face. The lovely shagreen covered scabbard has an aged seam opening as well as a crack to the shagreen, but is not broken and does remain in good condition as well as wears wonderfully detailed fittings. Very good condition and guaranteed original pre WWII German Navy Model 1923 officer sword. Left side of blade also has the German Navy eagle M property marking. Sword is marked N584 on the reverse guard, which is a Nordsee (Baltic Sea) Fleet inventory number. 30 ½ blade has nice original bright finish with just a little scattered brown freckling. Remaining metal is original gilt showing light wear. Sword features a lion head pommel and an anchor design on the folding guard. Grip has tight wire wrap and no damage. Sword is complete with correct original not. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brass fittings. Leather shows some normal wear, stitching is nice and tight. Throat is a little loose. Scabbard is complete with braided leather hanger cord and is also marked eagle M and N584 on the throat, matching the sword. It is mounted with a beautiful arsenal made, stainless steel blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 24 1/4 inches in length. The blade has survived in wonderfully nice original condition with only some very minor surface blemishes. The tang wears one hole and is unmarked. This is an outstanding example of a War-Time Historically Recorded Battlefield Pick-Up World War II Japanese Army Officer Sword mounted with an ancestral blade. The old antique Wakizashi blade wears a cutting edge of 20 3/8 inches in length. The blade does wear a visibly wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side however reflects cleanings from recent years and has a couple of nicks to the cutting edge, otherwise does remain in good condition. The tang wears one hole and is signed “Bishu Ju San Shiro”. The Sword wears Army Shin Gunto Regulation Mounts which all remain in very nice however there is a small glued repair to the wrapping. The Regulation scabbard remains very nice in its condition and is wonderfully hand painted with the recording of one of the hill battles of Iwo Jima along with the date March 26, 1945 and the name of the GI that brought it home. Very good condition and guaranteed original pre WWII German police sidearm sword. 417 on top of the guard for issue to the Saxon police in Leipzig. 22 ¼ blade has original bright finish with a little gray and brown. Never sharpened, still has original leather washer at the base. Remaining metal finish is original bright plated showing normal age toning. Rayskin covered grip shows some wear and a few cracks and has tight wire wrap. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has bright metal throat and tip. Leather is soft and supple with some normal wear, stitching is nice and tight. Also complete with original patent leather frog that is soft and supple with some normal wear, stitching is nice and tight. A hard to find pre WWII German police sword that will make a fine addition to your collection. This is a good example of a Japanese Steel Helmet which dates from the World War II Era. It has survived in well used condition nevertheless is still wearing its very nice front star. This lovely Japanese Naval Officer’s Sword Belt dates from the World War II Era and has survived in very nice condition. It is constructed of black leather with brass fittings which although the leather shows a bit of very light wear, does remain in healthy condition. The Buckle face wears a beautiful Emblem featuring a cherry blossom and anchor. Still present are the two sword hangers. Interestingly, there is a hand-inscription of the Imperial Navy Officer’s name on the leather backing of the buckle. Overall the adjustable Belt would fit a waist up to about 36 inches.
